Not sure if this is something to do with new software; but on both Firefox and Chrome if you aren’t logged in the menu bar ends up right in the middle of the screen where it obscures content (I know many other sites do stuff like this but it can be annoying) – and if you are logged in it flashes and disappears (also distracting, and possibly bad for people who are photosensitive).
Any chance of stopping this from occurring?

May 8, 2017 at 11:18 pm #1246514I’m using the following browsers:
Chrome Version 58.0.3029.96 (64-bit)
Firefox 53.0.2 (32-bit)I’ve attached a screenshot of what happens when not logged in (same happens on both browsers). If you are logged in the menu bar moves faster to the point it flickers/flashes (like when coding graphics on an old 8 bit computer if the timing is off – I can’t screenshot that as it moves too fast for me to keep up with it!)

edit: or rather I’ll be logged in but it doesn’t think I am so the menu bar problem persists as GL said.
May 11, 2017 at 2:44 am #1246817@GL & DB – I wasn’t seeing this problem but I’ve disabled the sticky admin bar for you.
@DB – I was very active last week doing work on the web site’s backend. Getting logged out would have been a factor of my restarting the web server to test a change. Anyway now that that’s done, you shouldn’t have a problem but let me know if it happens again more than once or twice.

Incidentally I’ve also noticed a load of old style HTML links right at the bottom of the screen – not sure if this is for mobile devices or what should like a WordPress “widget” that would normally be on the RHS below the tag cloud in a box (like on other WP sites) but has lost its placeholder:

Thanks Fearless Leader!!! I’m not having any problems with either right now.
