I don’t think there’s much need – if they carry on doing that in East London they won’t last long. They’ll try confiscating the wrong person’s beer eventually and get smacked round the head with it.

I really hope that’s fake, but I fear it may not be…

Nah I don’t think it is faked to be fair, it looked pretty real. I think they are deliberately picking on people they think they can handle though.

If some dickhead tried that shit with me I’d chin them. If I was in an Islamic country then fair enough but fuck these guys!

I would really not take kindly to this kind of shit being pulled on me.

Oh I DO hope someone tries that shit with me. It’s been a long time since I’ve had the opportunity to practise my martial arts skills in a real street situation.

What martial arts do you do?

Oho, now that’s a question. Predominantly Northern Shaolin Seven Star Praying Mantis Kung-Fu, but I’ve also studied Foshan Wing Chun, Lau Gar Keun, Yang style Taijiquan and freestyle kickboxing.

That’s awesome man, when did you start? I really want to start doing martial arts but theres nothing around my way really other then Muay Thai. You lift weights at all? What’s your favourite out of the ones you’ve done?

When this started happening in Reading (especially following the London bombings, and a reprisal attempt by a 15 year old white kid and his mates to torch Medina dairy in nearby Slough), the more moderate brothers and sisters immediately distanced themselves from it, identified all these muppets, and gave their names to the Police! Once the cops arrested all these idiots (whatever backgrounds they may be from) and gave them the impression they could be facing anti-terrorism charges as well as anti social behaviour, all this miraculously stopped happening. It is simple criminal/gang activity and claiming territory, with religion being used as a smokescreen and unfortunately because these lads are seeing people get away with it succesfully in foreign lands (or some may even have been involved in such) they think they can do it in Europe.

Reading does however have a very powerful moderate Muslim community who have a great deal of respect amongst every race/religion, I know some of them personally and they are good people, and to be fair they have stopped the town having race riots on more than one occasions. They are actually respected across the country for their work towards multicuturalism (one of the older chaps there used to help run the anarchist bookshop with all these punks and hippys back in the 1980s, but you’d never have realised this if you met him!)

in other parts of the UK feds and even MI5 found out that these “vigilantes” and BNP/EDL were meeting up and working together to start fights and intimidate everyone else in certain areas (especially where folk are of social classes / cultures where they do not like the Police) in order to keep territory and have opportunities to commit other crimes, ranging from hard drugs dealing to grooming young girls. It wasn’t a setup or fake as such, just that each enemy was equally passionate about fighting their battles and they got a buzz from it, same as we get a buzz from our music and drugs and partying.

Started martial arts when I was about six as my Dad was a Wado Ryu Karate instructor and it was compulsary. Started kung fu in 1998.

The Praying Mantis is my favourite and the one that Ive studied the longest. Its nice and artistic, traditonally taught Shaolin Kung Fu featuring a great many traditional weapons and many handstyles as well as internal training and conditioning. Some very old and secret techniques.

Dont really lift weights. All ofmour strentgth comes from dynamic training and resistance work as well as the cultivation and use of qi (chi).
