it could be a joke photo, but if the kit is IP67 or above and the CPC (green box) and krone blocks haven’t also been drowned (such as going direct from the insulated cable to a DP on overhead pole) it would work (albeit perhaps with a bit more line noise)
I’ve seen in telecom suppliers catalogues stuff like indestructible DP boxes, animal proof outdoor cable, earthquake proof racks etc for tropical countries, they tend to prepare their infrastructure a lot better than we do
this is why you can see all the youtube and flickr pics of earthquakes/monsoons etc hours after they happened…
a family friend used to work on Telekom Malaysia and he was allowed a blank firing shotgun to scare away bears, [1] as they would climb the mobile phone masts and batter the satellite uplink dishes (thinking they could get honey etc) and it causes problems for the islands surrounding Malaysia as the link to the next tower is lost
it happened where my grand aunt lived and I kept waking up this poor old Chinese man at about 3 am trying to call their house because every phone number on the island somehow got routed to him…
[1] the bears are endangered, so he is not allowed to harm them in any way
