it’s true, there is no such thing, it’s all about the change in the earths axis

yes the till of the earth effects climate change !

i have been saying that for ages. and people look at me like i’m mad. mad i tells you!

but no, i fully agree, look how many times the world has changed over thousands of years. it’s just changing some more

There was a documentary about it on TV a couple of years ago too.

This graph shows temperature over the last 1000 years.

    Warming.

Sorry can’t get it bigger, but you get the idea.

    Where’s the spring?

interesting – where did you get the image from, binge?

global warming in the UK initially seems like “nothing to worry about” and (to selfish bastards) perhaps even “cool, we can get good summers” but many forget about melting ice==floods..

although maybe not round this way,,.

Its from the IPCC- The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the world’s leading body on climate change. The website is here:

    http://www.ipcc.ch/

Thay produce comprehensive reports every few years on the state of the climate, literally 1000’s of scientists contribute from all over the world. And trust me, the conclusion is that the climate is changing and it is anthropogenic (That is, human) impacts that are doing it.

I’m just finishing a degree in Environmental Science, so I know a bit about it. There are valid points that we just don’t know what will happen, basically because the climate is so complex that we can’t begin to understand what the results will be.

The main point that people need to consider is that yes, the climate of the planet goes in and out of ice ageas all the time, it has been hotter than it is now, and colder. But this happens over geological timescales, i.e. 1000’s-1,000,000’s of years. As you can see in the graph above, we’ve had a 0.5ish degree warming in less than 50! On a normal timescale, gaia has time to adapt, systems can change gradually, animals and plants adapt. BUT, the rate at which this is happening is unpresedented. We just don’t know if the planet will be able to cope.

    I need a beer.
