  • First of all….Hi peeps! For some reason i can get back on Partyvibe at work so happy days! raaa

    Anyway back to the point…..

Recent party in my local woods with no more than 60/70 people….Old bill turned up and sat at the end of the track, then they left. Half hour later they turn up again and just walk in and took the sound system, one of the cops decked my mate to the floor for no reason and he had a broken leg in a cast. All this is caught on video on a friends phone. 4 other coppers are heard saying things like “careful with him hes got a broken leg”, then my friend is ordered to stand up on his own while he is face down on the floor, cuffed, with a broken leg. Then the old bill confiscated my friends phone as evidence…..an official complaint has been made to the independant commission.

This weekend just gone….free party on the outskirts of Norwich under the A47, around 200/300 people, very close to houses with many complaints. Old bill just turned up and agreed with the organizer to turn it off at 9….and they got to keep the rig.

    F*ckin piss take.

Right so you mentioned that they took your frins phone. Was he filming the events as they happened, also what was there reason for taking it as evidence. The coppers should have given your friend a repceit for the phone, otherwise there will be no way to reclaim the evidence. You are going to need some evidence of brutality to back up your case with the PCC. Did your friend who was hurt have to attend hospital, because I believe you are going to need records from the hospital. Another important thing, have you got any viable witnesses that saw the assault take place, and did anyon else get any video footage. It might be worth appealing to anyone who attended to submit any fottage(to you not the ob) they may have shot when the police arived. Whenever I am at a party and the cops show up lots of people get there phones out and start filming so you might be in luck. But if the mobile phone that belonged to your friend that was taken as evidence has the only footage of the attack on it. There is always a chance that the cops have deleted it (I have no idea if a copper would do this though but there are bound to be a few bad eggs). Finaly did you get any names or numbers of officers attending, namley the ones who attacked your friend and who ordered him to stand up. There would also have been a copper who was in charge of the other cops on ther ground. I believe he would be partley responsible for his officers actions so he would be a good name or number to have.

Don’t take what I say for fact, I have never been in this sort of situation before. But that is what I would try to do. But this forum has some mpretty brainy people on here so you may want to ask some of the veteran users like GL(General Lighting) and Biotech etc, I could be wrong but I would think that they know the ins and outs considering there backrounds in partying.

I wish you, your friend and the rig owners the best of luck. Please keep us informed.

afaik what you’re saying is pretty on the ball louge. If an assault happens regardless of whether it was allegedly done by the police or just a normal person, you need witnesses, and hospital records to make any one even consider it actually happened. If you got footage you have something against them, with out it the case will fold. (unless you are very very very lucky)

    Harsh

    Hope you get it sorted

Matey got his phone back, old bill had deleted his video but the phone has been handed to solicitors who are going to retrieve the data back.

My friend who got assaulted didn’t need hospital attention or anything like that, but surely being man handled by anyone especially a police officer for no reason is a criminal offence? There were plenty of witnesses + the video

it would be viewed badly even by many coppers (even if some tried to cover up his act). Even by the standards of 20 years ago, taking down an already injured person in this manner would be viewed as cowardly and bullying. The Police is an increasingly diverse and competitive environment, where officers who want to advance their career (particularly to detective ranks and road policing) can do so by grassing up on other officers what break the rules.

When we had a cop like this where I then lived, he got complained against and whilst he didn’t get nicked or sacked, due to complaints was held back from promotions and eventually invalided out of the force due to mental health problems.

BTW the Trowse party only didn’t get busted because there was some grime event at Herbie Hides house and a dude got stabbed so all the major incident team would have been deployed out for that, not leaving sufficient to close down a event in the other area of the city and deal with Prince of Wales avenue etc..

Yeh we kind of put 2 and 2 together and got the same answer, thing is the old bill have let 2 other parties go on without getting raided. So that’s 3 parties that got away with it until an agreed time, whereas a local party in the woods with few people gets the book thrown at them….

the mixed messages don’t help anyone (not even the cops!) but unfortunately the alternative would be to have the same arrangement as Suffolk or Essex where its full zero tolerance with confiscations and people even going to prison unless its a genuine small private party with permission of the entire family owning the land (such as for their young adult children). in Essex they do allow events with TENS but even then the nimby neighbours whinge about them.

One complained “it could be heard in the next county” and it made the news headlines, except thathe party was in Bures which is actually divided in half by the Stour so half the village is in Essex and the other in Suffolk :laugh_at:

Well its getting that way in Norfolk, i think it just depends on which copper calls the shots on the night. Private land is the one though!
