Hi im new to this site so I thought id post a little summin and see if n e one has the same oppinions as me.
why issit that old people (or underedjucated) just dont understand what drugs are,I once told a lady at work that I smoked cannibis and she replied with HOW CAN U INJECT THAT STUFF INTO URSELF!!! I find this really hard to believe that she actually believed this but she did, the media dont seem to put drugs into any sort of catergry and makes people (extremley nieve may I add) believe that smoking a bit of weed is the same as injecting heroin or smoking crack!!! I meen I have taken pills,k,acid smoked weed but I wud never even consider injecting heroin into myself!!!
Older people do tend to have a zero tolerance attitude towards drugs, and generally do not differentiate between soft and hard drugs. I recall a poll in a magazine about legalizing cannabis for medicinal use, and a woman (60+ of age) answered that she would never even think of using cannabis, “such an addictive substance”. For them, drugs are bayud, period.
Luckily, there is a plethora of sources where one can find unbiassed information about several substances (erowid for one, there’s lots of others too). Just be informed and do what you think is best based upon that, and what others think is basically just their own opinion.
Have to agree..the older generation just dont get it,i suspect most of them, especially if they came through the war and its immediate aftermath, have that ‘all drugs are bad’ thing.Back then you really had to be rich to indulge in any drugs.
When you also consider that a lot of the older generation will tend towards implicitly trusting authority figures, like Doctors for example, then your up against a brick wall trying to explain otherwise, because ‘the Doctor knows best you know’

ironically though a lot of drugs now used recreationally (like amphet) were handed out during the war to keep people awake and alert! – and also to give energy for post-war reconstruction efforts.
Prime ministers Winston Churchill and Anthony Eden (both conservatives) were heavy users of amphetamines
unfortunately society (in particular the medical profession) over-reacted to the negative effects of too much drug use; IMO this is as silly as banning hamburgers and pies because they may make you fat, or cars and bicycles because some people end up having traffic collisions!
but I was surprised to read that in the business world more younger (under 35 years old) managers would support drug testing than older people….. and I bet most younger managers grew up in the early rave days and may well have indulgeed themselve;s its almost as if some people “turn traitor” when they “get somewhere in life” and try 2 stop others having the fun they had previously 😡
I have however met people nearing their 60s who are not anti-drugs, including a manager at on employer who said he would actually go 2 a rave except that he was worried his old bones were not up for it
