  • Organic for quality Hydro for quantity.

hmmm ive looked at hydro’s and a shop has opened up quite close to where i live that sells the gear. would you say alot more commitment needs to be done if i were to purchase a hydro system? i enjoy growing but at the moment i dont have the time or the most room to play with

if you are getting enough yield to satisfy the demands of yourself/a few friends whilst not making your operation obvious via natural means, then stick with these.

there is enough chemically processed crap around in everything from cannabis to your food and drink, and all of it is bad for you.

it is the “strong” chemical weed what fucks up peoples minds and leads to the negative things happening what keep cannabis a controlled substance. also (though not trying to imply you are doing this or planning on doing so) having a surplus means you become inclined to sell it for profit and even if you aren’t playing gangster its not really a good thing to be getting into. The more you have the more people get jealous and might want to rob/hurt you, also the feds aren’t idiots and if a 19 year old lad suddenly acquires a nice car or loads of computers/music equipment whilst not having a full time job they know exactly where it came from.

Seriously, for a small grow stick to organic growing. It’s easier and the end product is nicer.

Back in the day I was part of a large 3 man grow project with 6 NFT tables with 8 plants in each. We had C02 enrichment and full environment controll as well as a separate unit for cloning from a mother plant.

It was an awesome grow while it lasted but it required constant maintenance and monitoring of PH levels, CO2 saturation, nutrient levels etc etc etc.

Thanks for the input guys this is helping making decisions! ive been selling it to only very close mates and at proper weights, ive picked up to many shit bags in my time to do the same to my friends. unfortunately ive already fucked my life up to the point im pretty unemployable, i have 4 hour a day job gardening when really i should be on the tools as i have been since i left school at 14. i got into the party scene to early because of older siblings and i regret it alot but i make the best out of a bad situation. i should probs be more careful withmy money as i just spent 4 grand on a 07 reg 1.4 fiat punto sport edition and fully comp and im technically unemployed but im not on the doll! in terms of my grow only close friends know and i dont associate myself with people who would rob others, mushrooms and acid have turned me into such a hippy hahaaa!
we do put to much shit into our bodies, i was watching a documentary by VICE about all the plastic in the ocean. i pity my generation as we are going to see some radical changes due to fossil fuels, less room to live and the fact there isnt enough food to go around :l

That sounds like a very serious grow, ive been to grows that sound similar to that as ive been hired as a cutter a couple of times in the last year, my crop should be done just before christmas so il upload so top crop picks and i was tempted to mke some hash aswell from the left overs πŸ™‚ my friend has a machine to make that cannabis oil the one thats in the class A group but i dont know anything about that, cooking shit with ethanol seems pretty dangerous!

I am not am expert on Northern speak but assume “on the tools” means in one of them factories making fridges, bicycles etc but I thought comparatively few existed today, or does it mean any skilled trade?

If you have some carpentry skils then you can build things like sheds, greenhouses and the like. and still continue gardening. Handymen are always valuable, especially if they can work on their own initiative and not be confined to a single job/trade like many ini the industry seem to be. As are anyone with some mechanic skills. You can trade these for (legal) things other than money and thus not be dependent from the normal economy And if you grow stuff you can eat / pretty flowers this takes a lot of heat off you from feds and other parts of society. Don’t set up a business to try and launder money as feds will find that out, but if you are running a legit small business and do it well you will be left alone even if you smoke the odd bit. especially amongst “hippy” type groups.

BTW hash oil is currently class B. There was some confusion about it when I was younger in the 90s but the law which made cannabis class B again from C was altered in 2008 to make oil class B. There is as you mentioned much more danger from blowing yourself up than drugs…

ive got a bit in everything i could never make my mind up as to what i wanted to do when i was older, my dad works with cars and motorbikes so i can do quite alot with them, i did a electrical apprenticeship for 3 years but them the company i worked for went bankrupt…then worked for a specialist carbon fibre and resin company and it was pretty sick, we made the swimming pools at the alton towers hotel and a couple of centre parcs, but after a 9 months of that i got fed up of doing 2 weeks away then 2 days home and i was on nightshifts so i never got to see anyone or get messy or id be fucked for work. now i just do whatever comes my way. at the moment i dont earn enough to get taxed so its no worries πŸ™‚ o thats good to know it is now a B i though A class was a bit over the top! iv’e heard a few comic stories about mishaps using rice cookers and ethanol and them not getting the vapours out fast enough and the gas lit up in the air and people singeing most their eye brows and beards hahaa!

Ive currently been experimenting with different fertilizers/organic products to grow my smoke with but i cant make my mind up on which to use permanently. the seeds im using are white shark (fem) from green house seed bank and i grow 6 at any one time under 2 450w sodium lights. For soil ive used just some top quality stuff from the garden centre, been using a mixture of guano and horse manure for my organic plants and only watering it with rain water, the only chems these plants have had is a big bud formula but it makes such a difference i can’t not use it :P. when this crops the bud is a little earthy and not compact buds but the smoke is so clean and pure and the high is a great energized/uplifting high but not as potent as when i grow with nutrients/chems.
my plants grown with chems are alot different. these plants i use distilled water and ph test them frequently, in the water i use a mix of nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium and a minute amount of magnesium, calcium and sulphur, during the vegetate stage i only use NPK with a little more phosphorous than the other 2. when it gets to the flowering stage i give it a little of the above ^^^^^^ and again i use the big bud formula and have to readjust the ratio’s of the NPK and the others. as it gets to the end budding stage (around 2 weeks) i stop using all the compounds and flush the plant with rain water. the buds are alot denser and less scraggly and more coated in thc, however i can still feel a bit of harshness that is not there with my natural bud but the bud is better quality.
Should i stick with the chemically grown bud as its more chronic in every way or the natural as its better on your health and a cleaner smoke.
This is my 4th grow and this is all knowledge ive got off my friends, if you have any more that could help me get more out my plants that would be great, and if you know how to get naturally grown plants to produce dense tasty buds and good yields then you have to share this wisdom with me πŸ˜€

My take on that – your natural organic fertilisers aren’t as balanced, are somehow deficient in nutrients, compared to your chemical mixes… but not by as much as you might think.

Here’s how you could be sure – do a little natural grow with 3 plants, adding a little bit extra nitrogen (most likely), phosphorous, and potash – 3 most common nutrients. The usual deficiency in natural grows is nitrogen, nitrates – you should get plenty of that in your horse manure but maybe not enough.

It’s a bit of a compromise, but think of it as working out the BEST organic additives and fertilisers. Perhaps it’s not the major Nitro/Phos/Pota nutrients that are deficient in your natural fertilisers – it could be that magnesium/calcium/sulphur at the flowering stage that is actually making the difference.

As for points noted, it is true that whatever you add to the plant ends up in the bud, but fact is, 90% of people prefer stinky smelly big chemical buds. It’s really down to what you prefer.

I can’t help thinking you could do maybe mostly organic with just that flowering additive for the flower and bud stage. You are taking care to try to flush the chemicals out at the end with rain water, which is pretty important if you do use chemicals.
