I just read on SJ about the projector getting nicked (initially I had thought it had just broken down or moshers had knocked it over) – thats the second one gone from a “semi-legit” underground party this year :hopeless:

Everyone knows the cops might confiscate your kit if you break too many laws and piss off too many locals, buts its way more fucked up IMO when people at the party are prepared to rob off the rigs… :hopeless:

maybe, but for a couple of years in the early 90s (although it wasn’t all ravers paradise even then) there was a different attitude. There were some right rum’uns at parties who got involved in all sorts of crime/scams but there was some unwritten rule that rig kit and DJ’s records was off limits for any sort of thieving.

There was a bare amount of pikeys there, saw people getting bashed up and robbed left right and center. Even i got in a fight with one of em, knocked me to ground.

Gave as good as i got though, lol .. well .. until he went to fetch his sister and i ran off!

What I wanna know is how they find out about them??? In London we have so many rude boys turn up and rob everyone whilst beating each other up and then the police get called coz of that and we get the trouble!!!!! Some are sound and i cant slag them off because there is a reason for everything and they are in a bad place… but…
I now work with kids through the prison services and end up seeing some of them out at parties (whilst hiding!!!!!) but knowing what they have been through gives you a real insight, im not sure what to say or do next because if their not at a party where else and what else will they be doing? Im not sure about the ourdoor scene coz im still trying to break into the circle, but i been to a few and heard the stories. Then you ask one, what u doing here, u into the music…. NO hahahahahaha i dont understand

i didnt think it was that bad!! maybe coz im used 2 them or sumin, thought i only saw a few local pikeys n was chattin 2 a few who were safe as

thing is a lot of parties these days are acutally organised or promoted in this manner, particularly the east anglian ones and the more recent SE England ones.

I think the situation is worse, it is the fact that more people who attend parties now look up to the “gangsta/rude boy/hard man” type of attitude and they tell these scrotes about the events…

or someone is passing on this info or letting it slip..

the people here and on SJ who go for the SE England/Midlands party circuit have mentioned similar nasty incidents since the start of the season.

People need to choose their friends more carefully (or stop doing parties in areas where they will cross the territory of these gangs), or it is going to end up in someone being stabbed or even shot at a party – there aren’t any weapons searches, nor any bouncer who can radio CCTV control on “clubwatch” before things kick off..

I would have once said this was only confined to the city but “bumpkin” areas are suffering from it to.

Incidentally the cops and media have picked up on the trouble that occured at this party and apparently the farmer (who gave permission) is being investigated.
