My mate did this, he already had a business then he decided to take his photography further and set up another business doing that, he said the enjoyment started to go when it went from a hobby to a job.

I know what you mean. I always think that if i were to make a go of it pro i’d have to be wedding/portrait photograper or something like that to make a steady living off it…. the thought of that is so offputting!

yep you’d only find that the boring jobs ended up being the ones that paid decent cash, then there would be the pressure from clients who were never satisfied and own stress (you wouldn’t want to fuck up someones wedding memories for instance so may be worrying about stuff) – and you will often find you have do deal with all sorts of muppets just to compete for and gain the business..

whilst if you are taking pictures for your own pleasure you can do it at your own pace… for instance you could spend an entire day trying to photograph a small pet or creatures in your local wood without worrying about other clients’ demands..

What i have seen be done locally to me in the pubs/small hotels is local photographers have put the pictures up for sale. The pub gets nice pictures hanging on its wall and you get a free place to sell your pictures. I have seen a few been sold this way, i do live near a few posh stuck up people though

That’s the kind of thing i’d like to do, just need to get myself a portfolio together and go to the right kinda places i reckon.

Keep doing what you love to do. :sign0005: Passion in the end is what makes life worth living. Passions also spots the doors openning. It’s all about timing. Life needs heART!
