Sounds like you did fine. You do need some fat in there – e.g. butter or milk – because your body can’t easily digest thc etc unless it’s dissolved in fat first (is the explanation I read anyway, I am not a food chemist). Pre-dissolving in butter or alcohol just makes sure it’s all nicely ready to work, instead of sitting in your stomach in indigestible lumps. If the brownies did their job OK then you obviously had it well enough mixed for that to happen in the oven !

T’other thing you have to watch is not to cook it too hot otherwise all the magic will boil away and you just have some expensive but inactive brownies. I don’t recall the vapourisation temperature range of thc, but IIRC about 180 to 190 centigrade (gas mark 5) is reasonable.

Thanks for the info, PP. 392 °F is 217 °C but I think (hypothetically speaking of course) I would allow a good bit of margin on the low side. Most stuff starts evaporating faster a while before it boils – and in the plant state it’s basically a pretty complex mixture of things, some of which are going to be more volatile than the average and so will have have lower boiling points. So yeah, Gas Mark 5 sounds about the max – even lower would be fine if the recipe asks for it.

Re. the point about butter – whether you are starting from natural erb or brown lumps rolled between the palms of dusky maidens (-ahem-) I think the most important thing is to get it very finely divided so as to release the maximum magic :love:
