  • Within the past like 5 years, I’ve seen a shit ton of remakes of older movies that I used to LOVE when I was growing up in the grand old 90s. Jurassic Park, (soon to be) The Goonies, I think I heard they were remaking the Gremlins…the list continues.

I can take a few sequels occasionally but my main interest generally sticks with the original because unfortunately sequels don’t really live up to the original’s standards, just my opinion. I have been surprised by a few sequels; the Final Destination series was pretty great and of course Resident Evil.

The remakes are killing me. You want your kids/family enjoy an older movie? Go buy the original or rent it at the library. I don’t see why we have to have a billion remakes of films that just cannot be remade in the right way. Don’t get me started on Michael Bay.

God damn motherfuckers running around remaking films. If they made the fuckers right rhe 1st time this would not be a problem

I like you Requiem. You seem to either really talking to me or being a smart ass lol. What’s the difference! Haha

Remember when they remade spider-man within 10 years? I reckon with the short attention spans of peeps these days makes the outdated flims without any of the special effects we have now a-days deffo comes to play. and of course there is lots of money in this.

    Well tyvm.

another bad thing is when USA remakes British films or TV of any kind – like that new Italian Job and the current Dr Who (I know US telly paid for half of it and it supposedly has better special effects but its not as good as the original ones).

Although both countries speak English we do have our own unique cultures…

there is also now a bad practice globally because of digital TV and movie cameras to overdo all the lighting and colours to the point its all nearly blown out (digital equivalent of overexposed); this seems to have started in the 1990s.

I even saw this on the outdoor footage of the Russian Victory Parade although to be fair the Russian TV had just kept it below the safe levels (otherwise it would show up a hot spot on Vladimir Putin’s balding head; and for doing that its very likely the production team responsible is going to end up having to haul 50 kilos of outside broadcast equipment in the winter to film Mr Putin helping out at the bear sanctuary. (that stuff isn’t staged; he really does have a soft spot for nature).

Or when hollywood plays cram the yank into the script when it makes films about historic events america had fuck all to dio with but yet the dumb fucks still end up saving the world.
