  • remember a happy raver is not a dead one. leaving personal details online has resulted in peeps bein stalked and killed raped and so on.

    scary but true.

PLEASE DO NOT POST THINGS LIKE YOUR ADDRESS OR PHONE NUMBER ONLINE!

IF U MEET SOMEINE IN THE REAL WORLD YOU FIRST CONTACTED ONLINE, TELL SOMEONE WHERE U R GOING AND BRING SOMEONE ELSE ALONG!

I for one dont want nastyness to happen to anyone on this forum coz im a fluffy hippy.

but the internet is a funny place.. there be wierdos an pervs and fucking freaks all over it.

If a mod can make this a sticky it would be nice.

    luv and hugs.

    Your local friendly safety Pixie

    an important point there pixie.

i think we’re both refering to a particular 15 year old girl who put her home address on here asking for a lift to any parties.

this is clearly a very bad idea.

although the party scene is about having fun, i know there are some nasty people that infiltrate the scene and take advantage of the good feelings.

and the internet is a good place for freaksto hide their identities.

    good advice from all

however desperate you are to attend a party; don’t forget basic personal safety rules!

sadly there are indeed plenty of people who take advantage of the young and idealistic – and they do turn up on the party scene.

even when at a party its still worth being wary of “new frienda”, particularly if you are out of your normal area or in a big city

and that applies to both genders. its has been known these days for blokes as well to be convinced into meeting a “pretty girl” (either via the internet or at a party) which turns out to be a trap leading into a nasty encounter with a weapon carrying gang intent on robbery or violence.

the world can be a harsh place, so be careful out there.

HEY IM EL the 15 yr old girl u must be refering 2 , i agree i was stupid 2 put my address and number on here but i thought i was pm ing not going public which was a mistake i made and only reaaaaaalised when i got a pm from globballoon , but also i believe intirely in fait so what ever happens is ment to including getting run over by a car , although this may seem cruel !! most things on earth are beyond our control and i believe in go with the flow take each step as you come too it , thanks for caring though el xxxxx

Ahh, but as the old saying goes, “you shouldn’t tempt fate” 🙂

Glad nothing nasty came of it.

there is only one type of fate that actually exists, and that’s the one where you can buy homemade jam.
Good to see so many caring types though,
be safe, and remember the green cross code.

Girls can feel free to stalk me….ive left my number up here plenty times, nothing aint happend yet. I think this is more for the females than males. Numbers are ok to put up (unused ones – i.e. a phone number you hardly or dont use anymore, which is what i use), addresses is just completely stupid.

True, blokes are less likely to be stalked (it does happen though!) but there’s also the “honeytrap” where they get attention from a girl, are encouraged to meet them at a certain place for a “date” (usually a dodgy area you would not normally choose to take a lady!) and are then jumped by a gang and robbed or beaten up.

A fairly common occurence in some city areas (happens often in London and even in places like Reading) – and on occasions at urban free parties (although TBH it could happen anywhere).

I really wish I didn’t have to put out these kind of dire warnings; but you need only read the horror stories in the news (the one thing that is true in the news is crime stories, these come straight from the cops incident logs) or on other message boards to see how bad things have become..

Because we are outside society we cannot expect conventional authorities to help us ; although to be fair they will pick up the pieces after crimes of violence occur on the party scene, if it comes to that it only further reinforces their view that raves and their associated sub-culture is dangerous and must be stopped.

at least here we can warn people of dangers, and if it prevents just one person from being hurt or taken advantage of we have turned a negative into a positive.

Hmm, yes, but I’ve realized some time ago that the world, as it is, is exactly what I need, to be me. It creates me, and I create it.
I can’t reduce life into e.g. cruelty or notions of fate, only when listening to electro (har!), little fatal mechanical music pieces…Furthermore, I’ve felt a sens of responsability growing in me, my actions in the world, the choices that I’ve made, they all come back to me, like “instant karma”, sometimes just as nagging thoughts but there they are! Roaming around in my powerless mind! So, its maybe a bit banal, but when you act positively, the matter around you reacts positively as well, bringing you to a conscious state of mind. It brings you whatever to need to know. Haven’t you noticed how you always get the answers you need, without any real struggle? And when you struggle and force, its all in vain? So be depressed. But what comes out of it?

Its nice to know there is others out there that dont just beleive intirely on material objects i have come too the same things as you and beleive that whatever happens happens because its ment to even the most horrible times can help you through in the end you learn by your mistakes and misfortunes . i beleive that thought creates and have done eversince i was around 6 yrs old ,positive creates positive while negative creates negative also that the world is maya and life is flow actions create karma rave music echoes the beating of your heart and dancing releases your spirit and drugs get you thinking and thinking and thinking. . while you are reading this your life is ticking on by so live for today not tommorow not yesterday do what you want to do now because this time shall never come again and it will soon be gone. THERE IS ONLY TWO SURE THINGS WE KNOW ON EARTH AND THAT IS THAT WE WERE BORN AND THAT WE WILL DIE the rest is unknown and unwritten in your journey of life . 🙂

Yes, of course. But, to clarify, I think that no-one, basically, believes entirely in material objects. But they represent mind-sets. And they have referentiel value. I think that I am as disgaged/engaged with “things” as anyone in this world. For exemple, I accumulate stuff. Records, to name one. Everyone of them so delicately selected. I would be very very sad to loose them.
I dont have confidence in the word “fate”, it tricks you a little bit, seems to signifie more than it actually does. I feel the relationship between me and the world (is it really possible to make such a distinction?) as a dynamic one, unreductible. True, each moment was ment to be, but, to my knowledge, I created it, because there was something I needed to know. Evey moment is important.
It’s true that you live in the moment, but these moments return, stored in the head. They have a story to tell. And sometimes, a nasty one…:-(
It seems to me that you actually know more that notions of birth and death. In fact, compared to the other things I normally believe to know, birth and death are a bit abstract, no? To honor the title of this thread, “remember your safety”, I would like to say: trust your mental capability, look close and make good choices. Dont be too reckless, sometimes your own recklessness will push you around between events, like a monkey lost in space.

The past has passed already. The moment won’t stay for a moment. The prepared for future never comes. “p’ang yun”

here it is-right now. start thinking about it and you miss it. “huang-po”
There for i beleive the same moment will never be again maybe in your head but the atmosphere and vibe the place you are will never be the same again.

whatever decisions we think we are making is actually being made for us,because the decision is the end result of athought and we have no control over the arising of the thought. “ramesh balsekar”

death is not the extinguishing of the light but the blowing out of a candle because the dawn has come. “rabindranath tagore”

these are some of the things i beleive in but everyone has there own beleifs and the right to there own opinion
