The singer-songwriter and producer excelled at glam rock, art rock, soul, hard rock, dance pop, punk and electronica during an eclectic 40-plus-year career.

David Bowie has died after a battle with cancer, his rep confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter. He was 69.

“David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18-month battle with cancer. While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy during their time of grief,” read a statement posted on the artist’s official social media accounts.

      What a shame 🙁

well they do seem to allow music in Purgatory (this picture was from the Facebook page of the Catholic Church in Kuala Lumpur where my parents were married)

Over the last week I’ve counted no less than 6 articles on Catholic websites worldwide (including one written by a prominent Cardinal from another EU country!) not just praying for his forgiveness but praising his music (many of his lyrics have spiritual overtones + themes of angst and shame at his vices/addictions).

Although if he is going to be playing guitar with Lucifer as some part of the penance that concrete podium would need extending (and presumably to be made more compliant to EU safety rules).

Hopefully I manage a couple more decades before cigarettes and asbest get to me and I end up there myself; by which time there are likely to be any number of antenna masts on the highest tower block.

So provided I avoid interference to the older peoples radio and telly (that is beamed to Heaven), pagers for the protection angels and the repeater for Jesus’s Stornophone (a well respected VHf/UHF communications radio originally inventeed in Denmark) I’m sure I could easily get a pirate TX in amongst the rest – as even when the heavenly equivalent of BNetZa did an audit stray radiation from the Light of Christ would confuse all their measurements :laugh_at:

Forgot to mention this, but the town I live in has an enormous bowie tribute. The friers club if gl is familiar as I think he’s the only one who’d know of it lol

Also said place is apparently where he did his first gig but I don’t know

I know its late but one of all time favourites
        Ziggy is still out there
