  • Haven’t been on here for a while as been spending alot of time staying with my mate in spain and trying to wangle a way to move out there myself…

anyway, while out there went to the Rocket Festival in Andalucia a couple of weeks ago. good music (through the night and morning), good people (nice mix of English and spanish), good vibes, friendly atmosphere and a site with blow-you-away scenery. baulked at the 60 euro entry price to begin with but heard they needed the festival to work this year, so what the fuck…

anyway, was excellent value for money and a reminder of just how much soul has been sucked out of the UK festival scene by coroprate takeovers in recent years.

best bit was total lack of regulation /surveillance / health and safety bullshit. no spanish coppers anywhere near the site let alone on it and security properly easy going.

Many people in one place, happily co-existing without heavy handed regulation… Surprise surprise eh?!!!!

Having come from the land where party goers are treated like an element that needs to be ethnic cleansed, was a proper breath of fresh air and sadly a reminder of how things used to be…

i wouldnt mind paying for rocket as its a realy good festival, it reminds me of the old festivals like Happy Daze, Harvest Fair, Forrest Fair ect. But with sun!

It certainly has that old feel to it. Beatherder in Lancashire is supposed to be like an old school festival but no where neer Rocket & i’m not forking out $$$$ to find out. I dont go to festivals these days purely for that reason.

If you can find a way to move out of the UK do it, its fucked here…..

Yes it is fucked – words of wisdom as always MrAHC!

Yeah but beatherders only £50. Rocket is done by the old Planet Yes boys. Wicked bunch of lads. I’m definitely going next time!

£50 to sit in a pile of mud seeing acts that I can see allover the UK for nothing? Beetherder is a good idea & was suposed to have had a good vibe but its just the same faces with the same ole same ole. I got better things to spend £50 on like new speakers.

Now Rocket 60 euros for a largeish festival in the sun with great acts and some huge sound systems with a great old school vibe.

Well I’ve never been and I think it looks like fun.
