- Pinned Roskilde Festival 2014 – Denmark Roskilde Festival is a festival held south of Roskilde in Denmark and is one of the largest music festivals in Europe (alongside with the Vieilles Charrues Festival, the Sziget Festival, the Glastonbury Festival, the Paléo Festival, Rock Werchter, and Exit Festival). Roskilde Festival is the largest festival in northernEurope. It was created in 1971 by two high school students, Mogens Sandfær and Jesper Switzer Møller, and promoter Carl Fischer.In 1972, the festival was taken over by the Roskilde Foundation, which has since run the festival as a non-profit organization for development and support of music, culture andhumanism. Toward the festival of 2014, the Roskilde Foundation has provided the participants of the festival with the opportunity, by votes and nominations, to influence which organizations should receive the profit of the festival. It is Denmark's first real music-oriented festival, originally for hippies but it has never been afraid to change and today covers more of the mainstream youth from Scandinavia and the rest of Europe. Roskilde Festival 2007 had more than 180 performing bands and gathered around 80,000 people paying for the concerts, with more than 21,000 volunteers, 5,000 media people and 3,000 artists – which means almost 110,000 people participated in the festival. For many years it was a tradition that the campsite opened the last Sunday of June, but in 2010 the festival opened Saturday instead. The festival management argued that this would prevent earlier years problems with the fence going down before time. The festival officially starts the following Thursday and the days leading up to the officiel opening is called warm up days. One stage Pavillion is during the warm up days renamed Pavillion Junior and presents the festival guests to up-coming bands from Scandinavia. The festival officially starts the following Thursday at the Animal Showgrounds (in recent years simply known as the "Festival Site") and lasts for 4 days. Every year since 1999, on the Saturday of the festival, Roskilde Festival Radio organizes a naked run around the camp site. One male and one female winner receives a ticket for the next year's festival. In the past few years, the naked run has become so popular that the Festival Radio has been forced to arrange qualifier events for the male participants. - Pinned ROTW – Rhythms of the World 2014 I was round one of my homies house's, drinking tea, smoking grade having good conversation, I get a text message from my dad half expecting it to be some news about world superbikes.....they've only gone and bought two, black and white 8 week old shih-tzu puppies! they are adorable, one is the runt, and by runt I mean RUNT. he barely weighs in at 0.7kg! my mum and dad paid like 500 squid for the two, the runt was a buy one get one free jobbie. Was later told the people who's bitch had them, were gonna have him put to sleep! (wankers) there names are Lotti and ? ? has a very, very bad hernia which makes him look like he has a baseball in his tummy, he's going for surgery tomorrow to have it sorted, thankfully my mum has pulled some strings at work to get Hampdens vets best surgeon in to operate, IF he survives the op (as he really is SOOOO teeny tiny and worries me to death , only seen him today and I'm besotted with him!) he's to be called Charlie, I don't like the name at all, but he's not my dog so I can't say otherwise. I'll post some pictures tomorrow, haven't got my USB cable for my phone so I'll do it on the 'moro when I got to the library.

- Pinned ROTW – Rhythms of the World 2014 [ATTACH=CONFIG]86153[/ATTACH] Rhythms of The World (ROTW) was first organised in 1992. ROTW is a concert which celebrates the culture and art which is expressed through all types of music and art. In the ROTW programme, it notes, "[ROTW aims to] provide an opportunity for people to engage in community activity, to provide a bridge of common interest across ages, race, ability and economic groups, to provide an outlet for the energies of young people, to stimulate the arts, and to promote North Hertfordshire".Rhythms of the World takes place each July in the market town of Hitchin, Hertfordshire. The ROTW festival was made up of nearly 190 acts on 11 stages, plus 12 fringe venues (pubs and bars offering live music in partnership with ROTW) in 2006. It now includes various workshops (music, art and otherwise), stalls and a myriad of other distractions. There will be a flyer at some point and I'll post it when I find it, (if it's a festival you want posted here of course) I went there some years back, had a wicked time and met members from PartyVibe and Level-1 :bounce_g:

Hi i've got a discount voucher for a ticket resailer and was wondering since i like dubstep/grime and girls and drugs which festival would be the best to go to? (Commercial festivals screw ups) just been picking over what appears to be a years worth of fuck ups organising legal, commercial festivals from this region - first the Bloc fuck up (why do it in London, trying to compete with established local promoters when they already had venues in the region, and they could even have brought that big old container ship round here, its the same North Sea ;) ) then symettry cancelled on odd circumstances, allegations that a big London promoter threatened to pull out their event due to competition - this may or may not be the case, but its a competitive commercial environment and everyone can use every legal tactic possible to win business... and frankly if I had been working in London (where things aren't as easy as they may be) and seen a Norfolk promoter try and take a bite out of the revenue I'd agree with my organisation fighting back, especially with the contraction of the UK EDM scene and promoters being held to ever stronger licensing restrictions. I'm glad I don't go to these things or provided resources for them so didn't lose out, but it seems like young promoters here think that the rules of commercial business don't apply to them when doing commercial events - yes it is a hard environment and probably harder work than call centre at Aviva or working in the family construction business (which is usually tolerated, respected and not linked with drugs/money launderign because SOCA will 'ave yer' if it isn't) but if they want to play these games they need to play harder - East Anglia is not London or Amsterdam, there is 20 or more years worth of bad news including links with serious crime, violence and fatal overdoses to deal with and because of this the tolerance in society to openly allow large EDM events need to be regained. I saw some of the Bloc pre publicity and it was worse than Nathan fucking barley, they were simply ignoring valid queries from decent music journalists asking about basic logistics and telling bullshit jokes instead. Bear in mind for anyone here who wants to party they can go to Holland for cheaper than many UK festivals especially with Nederlandse Spoorwegen and the ferries offering cheap tickets..

- UK : England : Measles warning for UK festivals! Hadn't expected to see this; although it is a valid and genuine warning for younger people who are now in their teens/20s. Before then there wasn't as much (now discredited) paranoia about childhood vaccinations; TBH when I was a small child there seemed to be even more vaccinations (you would have to go with your parents to random government building near the main hospital site or it was done in the sickbay of school, often there were scary posters on the walls warning about all the diseases you could get if you didn't have these jabs.). I think MMR had only just been invented when I was the required age and my local NHS region still gave separate injections! I had to have some others on top of those before my parents visited Malaysia in the late 1970s - presumably they all did some good as I am still alive and in reasonable health for their age (this also put me off ever injecting drugs for enjoyment). But if you didn't have these vaccinations as a child and are going to any large gathering of people it is best to get them sorted out first, measles is nasty and contagious (it used to kill many people in the last century!) https://www.theguardian.com/society/2016/aug/08/measles-warning-young-people-festivals-outbreaks

- How do girls like to be approached at events/ festivals? For example, I'm in a crowd full of thousands and I notice this girl is eyeing me nearby. How do you think she would like to be approached by me? What kinds of things should I start by saying to her? If I'm trying to find someone to dance with/ hang out with for the duration of the event. I'm not trying to be the creeper guy constantly going around bugging girls. But often I do notice girls checking me out and I just kind of leave it at that. So what should I say first? How should I approach these situations?

- Festivals in 2014. Which are you going to? The last festival I remember going to was Rainbow Serpent in Victoria. I was a little unprepared but it was amazing despite one at 49c and the next at 18c. And I'd love to go again sometime although it's been this year already.
