Aye ma mum sed she had this ages ago. happens to loads of people apparently.

    Sounds fuckin orrible

    that sounds really frightening, :hopeless:
does it get worse if your worried or stressed about stuff or do you get it all the time?

and I thought I was having rough nights by just not being able to get comfy :yakk:

i used to get sleep paralysis and thought it was amazing. The frightening part of it comes when you are struggling against it, if you can realise while your having it that all it is, is sleep paralysis then you can use it as i gateway into lucid dreaming, can be pretty mad. Next time instead of struggling or trying to run away just relax then you can pretty much do what ever you want when you are concious and dreaming.

Its weird I had that night before last, was fucking annoying coz in my dream I was going mad but I kinda knew I was dreaming so kept trying to wake myself up but then going back in to the same dream :you_crazy

Too much E! I used to get these trips all the time when i regularly took E. Now that i use it now and then i haven’t had the sleep ting for ages!

    Oh my God!

I get this all the time, generally it happens when i’m in the house on my own and I fall asleep feeling a little bit scared. Its really weird, you just can’t move at all and whenever it happens to me i’m convinced theres somebosy in my house and I really want to get up and lock my door but I can’t move at all I even try to open my eyes but it just does’t happen.

Really strange, I read up about it and its a completely normal thing and will happen at least once in somebodies life.

Glad to hear your actually sleeping now by the way 😉

cheers! yeh i sleep alot better at the moment less drugs and less stress go along way

happend again last night but wasnt really scary now, just quite intresting, i also had a dream where i was wrestling with a small horse

Anybody else get sleep paralysis? For those that dont know sleep paralysis can occur as you’re falling asleep or when awakening from REM sleep. Contributing factors can include sleep deprivation, disturbed sleep pattern, drug use, depression and axiety disorders amongst others. Symptoms often include difficulty/inability to breath and move as well as visual, auditory and proprioceptive (thats balance and spacial awareness) hallucinations. The symptoms and their severity vary from each experiencer. Unfortunately I tend to experience all the symptoms in full severity often during several bouts in a single night. Thankfully this only happens around once every 6 months. Last nights episode was particularly unpleasant. As I was driffting off I suddenly became ultra alert but was unable to breath or move. I recognised what was happening though so just waited a minute or so til it passed, but even knowing its going to end doesnt make not being able to breath any less scary. I turned over and aftet a few minutes it happened again only this time I couldnt see, as if blindfolded, and it felt as if I was free falling. This shook me up a little and I was reluctant to go back to sleep as I knew another more intense fit of sleep paralysis was probably waiting for me on the other side of conciousness. I relaxed to some music for 20mins before succumbing to the most terrifying experience of my life. This time I think I must have been asleep for some time and was waking from REM sleep, this caused my body to be awake but my mind very much asleep. Again I woke with a start aware of something in the room that wasnt meant to be there. Paralysed I looked up to see a masked figure covered in blood looming over me with a knife, unable to shout or scream I look down at my girlfriend to see hes already massacred her and im clutching her mutilated corpse. He starts laughing and decapitating the woman I love in front of me! I was totally consumed with anger and fear and all I could think was im going to die!
Then as quickly as it had begun the hallicinations all dissapated and my breathing and movement resumed. Shit me up though and didnt sleep again last night.
On the plus side think im now prepared for even the most hardcore bad acid trip possible

Yes i used to get it a lot after doing lots of drugs, usually stimulants or if i had been drinking and sleep deprived

First time i had it it was scary because obviously i could see around my room but not move a muscle, after i knew what it was they were not so bad any more

Im usually aware its sleep paralysis but not always. Seem to be when waking from REM you get the more severe symptoms as opposed to didturbance as youre falling asleep

Last night a man came and jumped on my chest and then started flattening n squashing my nose in so i couldn’t breath, he then wrapped his mouth over mine and continued to blow into my mouth really hard so i was unable to exhale, finally i pushed him off and pulled myself awake, ergh it was aweful.

Yeah I hate this. I’ve not had it for years thank fuck, but used to get it loads when i was taking pills/mdma all the time. Can be so scary, I’ve thought I was gonna die on numerous occasions cos of it.
