  • i was stopped for alleged speeding in December but have not heard from them, is there a time limit for them to take this to court?

at the time were you given a ‘producer’ (a piece of paper with time, place, offence etc and a time limit to produce all your car documents / license / insurance etc)?

no, they checked out my document (insurance, driving liences) over the radio, they did not give me any thing to take with me or to tell me what was going to happen, i have not even got any of the offices numbers.

their comms and computers are a lot more sophisticated these days and if you are on a “shit-list” for being a bad driver or carrying drugs or any other stuff they would definitely take more action.

if you are not the sort of person who habitually drives like an idiot, it sounds far more like the black rats just wanted to give you a bit of a scare for driving too fast but didn’t want the hassle of the paperwork.

Not sure about whether there is a time limit but I suspect you are very unlikely to go to Court for this is you aren’t known for speeding or a gary boy..

To be fair the cops are genuinely concerned over the high death toll on the A12/A14 and similar roads…

I have always belived that a NIP (notice of intended prosecution) has to arrive with you within 28 days, if it falls outside this time a simple letter from a solicitor should stop it in its tracks.

big thanks for the help on this one, i feel a lot better now:bounce_fl

can`t go clubbing if you aint got a driving licences

Naughty boy…… well me and da missus got caught last month and that came threw in 5 days but on another occation i got flashed doing 70mph and heard nothing, even thou the polile stopped my wife at a later date to do a routine and said “do you realise you have out standing ticket” That was 8 months ago….. Oh well..

I Seem to remember from when my mate got done for speeding, him saying that if the police didnt let you know or give any information about court e.t.c within 6 months, they hav to drop it, might be a load fo shit though.
