Yeah I think they are taking no chances after the shooting in 414 the other week.

fucks sake. Just looked this up and it was a private reggae night. it must be as hard for the feds and council and promotoers as obviously not done today to suspect one group and not check others especially if it seems like racial profiling – but I do get the impression that for some scenes where folk from bad areas really have high ambitions for making a career out of music there seems to be a lot of jealousy and envy to the point folk end up being shot dead over music which is fucked up IMO. (and no, its not just black people either as I’ve seen this go on amongst folk of all races on the music scene).

At least the councils are letting the events continue although the irony is because its a run down area they have no choice or they’d lose the taxes and business the punters bring (unlike where I live where the night time economy isn’t as important)

Yep it was the first reggae night the owners had done in there after the local community asked them to… needless to say it is the last as well… the police forced them to close while the shooting was being investigated and it was to be shut for a whole month threatening the jobs of the staff and the owners livelihood… however a petition was put forward and they can reopen but there are licensing conditions one of which being everyone that comes in must have ID and its checked off against this MET shit list.. if your names down you ain’t getting in…

damn when i was in 414 with daft n that in december it was full of hard house homosexuals who wouldn’t hurt a fly!

Totally, don’t want to sound stereotypical that ‘all gay people are sweet as candy’ but i have heard nothing but good stuff about brighton/brixton town

Well I have seen the darker side of brightons gay scene. After the gay pride festival there was a rave down black rock (a notorious cruising zone) and on that night things get wild. I saw these dudes litterally wanking each other off on a bench in the walkway and when my mate called the disgusting we got thrown into a bush and basically battered by this scotish gay dude. I didn’t even say anything 🙁

Anyway there was loads of stuff going on up that path. and in the bushes. I tell no lies it was a bit creepy TBH

Oh no dude that sounds bloody aweful!
Scottish gay people in my experience are cunts :laugh_at:
I had my whole life in my jacket stolen in a gay bar here, phone with all my special phone numbers, house keys (inc bike lock key) so i couldnt use my bike for ages either lol, also my british passport, i’m wondering what the hell to bring this weekend… might have to take my aussie passport 😥

I didn’t even know Brixton had a big gay scene tbh but from my experiences it’s got nicer then it was but there are still bare gangs in the area. The good thing about Brixton is when you go around you can normally hear some nice reggae tunes.

Why dont you come to gay pride this summer ?

it’s not something i’d save up my cash especially to travel down for , if i lived there i’d give it a whirl for sure

Oh yeah iI forgot you have to travel.

    new update…

Re. This whole ID fiasco. . I’ve had a message from the venue stating that you only need to bring the card you paid with if you’re collecting e-tickets this is imperative you won’t get them without it… you only need photo ID if you regularly get asked for ID so are fortunate enough to look under 18… hope this clears it up. . See u all there x

thanks immensely for checking up on it and letting us know

    You’re welcome hun xx
