I know you’ve been with the drug war for a long time, but your relationship is never going to work out. It’s time to face reality and move on. Clinging to a study you published that claims the price of cocaine is up 19% is just sad. It does not mean that things are going to get better. There will definitely be ups and downs, but things will never change.
Word on the street (aka DPA’s DC staff) is that Congress slashed your media campaign budget by $20 million dollars today – down to $100 million, the lowest it’s ever been. It’s a matter of time before America cuts you off completely, so make a move and walk away with some dignity.
I know it’s painful to hear, but America’s just not that into you, and she never will be. I’m sure you wish it could be different, but as we say down South, “You can wish in one hand and sh** in the other and see which one gets filled first.”
Breaking up is hard to do, believe me I know. May I suggest the book It’s Called a Breakup Because It’s Broken.
Keepin’ it real,
Melissa
P.S. This TIME magazine cover is from 1981 – two months after I was born!!! You’ve been in this awful relationship for my entire life. When are you going to get it together?
