Former DPA staffer Baylen Linnekin, who when he’s not talking police officers into giving him a ride back to his hotel because he’s lost is taking the law into his own hand by beating up people who try to mug him, raises some interesting moral and legal issues in a recent post on his blog. Last week he was called for jury duty and it turned out to be a drug case. He was torn between telling the truth (that he can’t convict someone of a nonviolent drug offense) and lying so that he could get on the jury to acquit the defendant. Did he end up doing the right thing? You decide.
