I think they get to use that area for less rent as its wet and muddy (perfect for geese, but not much else)
Trizin Hof (or Martin, thats his Western name) has had to shift the lot West to Dalen anyway, I was reading about this on their blog. Incidentally his robes seem to be a combination of traditional Buddhist designs and the garb of a peasant farmer in the late Saxon era but thats not surprising as if you wore the Oriental style robe in Drenthe you’d freeze your bollocks off (the area is similar in geography and weather to Essex).
just to the North of where the place is are all the streets mentioned in “Op Fietse” by “Skik”, a local folk song where a group of lads decided to go on a bike ride and end up cycling 80km into Germany and then back again.
This is a news report of the move (being able to hold on to a goose like that whilst being interviewed by the TV is impressive TBH…).
Also the geese come from the whole of NL, he picks them up from near aerodromes as they would otherwise be caught and gassed for being a potential hazard to aviation..
