  • Although I really can’t remember the last film I saw (either I’m sketchy or I have a healthy disrespect for cinema, you decide). I’ve seen some fantastic films this year and there’s been some great documentaries too. What about you?

the last “film” I saw was probably the world traveller adventures documentaries. Fairly good and interesting from a historical POV, although with the exception of desert storm didn’t really do the scene many favours

I’ve never cared that much for longer features – I detest hollywood, they way it is run and the hate and hipocrisy inherent in many movies, and have found to my dismay that modern British films are trying to ape it too much, or conversely concentrating too much on violent crime…

you’re gonna love the last film i saw then! dawn of the dead! v stupid zombie stupidness, great! :mad_curse :get_you: :yakk: :toxic: :lol_crash

Saw 2, not as good as the first one, but still the best film ive seen in ages.

i watched saw 1 and 2 the other night after a heavy weekend. i had some wierd dreams :crazy_fre

i watched The Motorcycle Diaries the other day.. FilmFour sponsored Argentinian film based on the early life of Earnesto ‘Che’ Guarva and gives some insight into how his view of how Latin America should be for its’ people was formed

Also got round to watching ‘the Yes Men’… documentary about the guys behind some excellent prankster-activist events, such as the Barbie Liberation Organisation (they switched voice boxes between GI JO and Barbie dolls and planted them in stores before Xmas) and their excellent WTO take off

    recommend them both

The last film I saw at the flics was Saw 2 – as Titch said, not as good as the original, but I still enjoyed it. The assistance of the donkey dust made it a pretty wierd one!!

34all and I watched a film last night called the Straight Story – about some bloke who drove across America on a lawn mower! A bit random but we’ve got a fine at the video shop and they won’t loan us anything until we pay it off so we had to make do with the random dvd we found on on the bookshelf.

batman begins – i thought it would be gash like the last two or three, but it aquited itself really well. probably the best batman flick made yet. definitely the best batman character.

also a mongolian film called the crying camel or summat, i watched it because my missus went to mongolia to study rock art and i wanted to have a better idea. if you want to find out about a properly unique, amasing culture which is way more in tune with plants and animals than we can imagine, watch this.

believe it’s weeping camel, but anyway

    excellent movie, amazing culture

Without the risk of my missus reading this I can proudly say it was a porno flick. Various scenes, no snuff, rather pleasant really.

A more mainstream movie would be Batman Begin. Though the whole build up was great but the ending had me wanting Batman Ends.

I thought Batman Begins was terrible, it just dragged and dragged.

Hero is a brilliant film – anyone seen it?

i liked batman begins, but maybe im just sad

Hero was pretty good but I think House of Flying Daggers was much better.
    have you seen that?

my favourite film of the moment would have to be The Life Aquatic – I’m a huge fan of Wes Anderson and his Indiewood style of movie, and Bill Murray is without doubt my favourite actor of all time. It’s worth a watch just for Murray’s scampering about in a wetsuit – some great comedic moments.
other than that I am a big fan of Pedro Almodovar’s films – particularly Talk to Her and Live Flesh – even for those who have an immediate distaste of subtitles (like my boyfriend!), they are very much worth a watch.

On a comedown it would have to be Finding Nemo or any documentary about the ocean and beautiful sea creatures – gotta love those pretty colours!!

    err.. kung fu hustle!

Wicked film. Really enjoyed it. I would imagine that it’s not everybodies cup of Long Jing though.
