    them and many others.

they just put their videos online, youtubes indexing brought everything together, the BBC and other media used them without permission as it was “free content” and some journos also told the cops “do you realise this sort of thing is all on youtube?”

Many TV crime reporters do work much more closely with the cops than print media as especially now scanners don’t work its the only way they get the tip offs they require to get all the “raid in progress” footage, they are now all pro-police and have no qualms about stitching folk up as long as they get the good footage.

ah rite, interesting stuff as always GL.

A wee poem about “the scheme” that got passed around up here…

My name is big Marvin, ah stay in Onthank

My dug is a legend, ma burd is a skank

Am big tall and skinny, ma eyes have now sank

Ah swagger aboot like I’m built like a tank.

I like tae get high on prescription drugs

When ah huvnae nae food, I’ll jist eat the dugs.

Ah know it’s no big and ah know it’s no clever

Ah only drink Turps tae clean oot ma liver.

Am happy as Larry, am as high as a kite

Ma troosers are stinkin o’ pish, sweat an shite.

Ma life on the drugs have taken it’s toll

But it’s no stoapin me fae getting ma hole.

We shag oan the bed, we shag oan the rug

    Ma wee darlin angel…..

    Bullet the dug!

not quite as cultured as Burns but a good bit of Scots poetry :laugh_at:

with regard to cops and media, I can’t remember which force it was (might have been TVP) I was reading a report from yesterday – they were doing a load of raids and mentioned how Ross Kemp and his camera teams were there, and were openly complimenting the TV lot on how they worked with rather than against the investigations..

@generallighting what brougth about your interest in scottish culture ?

two things – the first one was that many years ago I used to be part of a party crew in SE England, most of us were English but there was one dude from Glasgow and two from Aberdeen. I needed to be able to understand what they were all saying when they had taken amfetamines and alcohol (which was a common occurence). in fact the Glaswegian chap couldn’t even sometimes understand what the blokes from Aberdeen were saying.

    the second is whisky.

I actually have a hard time making out some people from edinburgh if they have quite a heavy accent. Which is pretty mad when you consider edinburgh is not that far from here (glasgow). I have some family in devon, any time i have been down there its been a nightmare. anywhere i go they dont understand me so i have to really slow down my speech, another thing is the majority of places wont take my scottish banknotes

I used to have the same – when I started a job a good few years ago there were a load of Glaswegian lads that I used to go drinking with, the more pissed they (and I) got ~ I was lost with what they were saying!! and they’d been down here for about 20 yrs! LOL, ones moved to new zeland now and finding the same there!

Most of my family down there are origanlly from glasgow but youngers cousins or extended family where born and raised in devon , they sometimes dont understand me but having lived around glaswegians its not as bad . Its when i go to shops or out for the day it becomes a nightmare.

I’ve been thnking of moving to devon to stay for a little while , even just a few months to get away from here. Its lovely down there and the weather is a million times better in the summer than ours up here. Its just making the final decision to go for it , i know i would love it

plus the weed is lovely down there :bounce_fl:bounce_g:

Devons a lovely area, I’m not sure if there is much work around though – but if you have family there they might be able to help ? its always better to regret doing stuff rather than not :group_hug

Thats true , nicely put .

im pretty guilty of maybe not taking a chance on things and just going for it, hate being like that because i know im probly missing out. On the work front there aint a lot of work up here either, ive just started a new job its only a few months cotnract but im just glad to be active and doing something again after sitting on the dole for the biggest part of the year, im defo giving devon some serious consideration

loved it everytime i have been, totally different to where i am now.
