  • Ive just posted a small part about trolling not being tollerated and that if people are being trolled or have info that they should approach one of the mods who in turn should discuss this the Admins to take relevant action.

I hope that this is ok with you all. It may just be chit chat but trolling is mentioned a few times in the general chat section.

    What do you think?

TBH most of the SJ refugees are behaving, even if they don’t like the more “regulated” régime.

I do think its sad though that people actually get angry/disheartened at having to be positive/nice to others or not be constantly dumbed down; TBH I think people who put offensive trolls on the net often do have a nasty side to their personality which comes through in real life, often involving racism / violences / stalking or fucking up something positive.

we have various methods of stopping trolls causing probs – already three trolls been dealt with.

that said I think there are a few SJ users who I genuinely don’t think are very nice people or rather shallow TBH – they are only involved in the party scene for the short term then 3 years down the line they will be either addicts/mental cases who aren’t prepared to sort themselves out or burned out angry people calling 999 to a party because its annoying them – perhaps even grassing up their former friends…

Where did you post this mate? I haven’t seen it crop up in the ‘unread posts’ section.

Trolls: The kind that pick on people to the point of making them feel unwelcome and unhappy I despise, and yes they should not be tolerated.

However, there is the other side to trolling where someone takes on a character and can actually be a top laugh. This I don’t necassarily think should be discouraged. It depends on your definition of the word ‘troll’ I suppose.

Our policy so far has been: users report incidents privately and we deal with it privately. Trolls want attention, just mentioning them is a win for them so let’s not talk about it publicly in future unless we agree there’s a need…

Perfect example. This person is excentric thats all and believes in New World order etc which is facinating. But he also claims that he has been trolled on SJ and perhaps the reasons are obvious with being too open with his ideas..

Important point here! Let’s not be seeing to be overly repressive. Some of this’ relateively harmless fun…

    Agreed.

Something which seems fun must be seen for what it actually is – friendly Banter.
