    —-
Apologies for emailing out of the blue. My name is Mark Rankin and I am writing to you from a documentary production company called Pioneer Productions (http://www.pioneertv.com).

We are currently making a series of science programmes about how different drugs work. The programme that I am producing will look at ecstasy. We hope to film with past and present users of this drug to explore what effects it has.

We will then talk to experts such (Professor David Nutt, Professor Val Curran) to find out how ecstasy creates these effects.

I am emailing members of Ecstacy groups/forums, apologies if the content of this programme is not relevant to your experiences.

I can be contacted at mark.rankin@pioneertv.com or on 07793047984.

Thanks for taking the time to read this email. I hope to hear from you soon.

    Best wishes,

    Mark

Propaganda alert, don’t trust mainstream TV and positives about drugs. expect the footage to be cut to make you look like a low life.

    My opinion.

I made the exact same mistake. I was approached on this website by someone who was claiming to be doing research for a new medical journal which would be released to the NHS about the effects of ketamine on the bladder. an since ive always had bad experiences with the hospital basically not knowing anything about ket i thought i would educate and took part in it. So this woman called me up and said she wanted to have a chat. I was on the phone to her for about 2 hours and told her 9stupidly) about my ket addiction and what the effects it has on my bladder. Then a few months later i was on squatjuice and i saw someone had posted a link from the Guardian newpaper regarding ketamine. I got halfway down the article and it hit me.. I WAS READING ABOUT MYSELF. I must have said about 200 sentences to her over the phone and she picked out the worst one and made me look like a dispicable, hopeless drug addict.
so if someone called DINA RICKMAN wants to talk to you about drugs. Tell her to go fuck herself

    Hi There,

My name is Mark Rankin I am a Researcher for Poineer TV.

Pioneer Film and Television Productions are producing a BBC3 science documentary about recreational drugs and we are looking for people to take part in the programme. We are currently looking for people in the UK who use Ecstacy and would be happy for us to film this experience. We would also be interested in hearing… from people who now use Legal Highs as an alternative to Ecstacy and their reasons for doing this what are the good points and what are the bad points. If you are interested please contact me at mark.rankin@pioneertv.com or call me on 07793 047984. Note you must be over 18 Thanks!

If you can help in any way I would appreciate it.

    Best wishes

Markwould you be willing to join in with me/us?

    Hey,

I’m afraid I would not be able to do that the BBC would not allow its employers to do this. I would probably be filming as well and my face is much better suited for being behind the camera trust me!

It would be good to talk though on the phone so I could tell you a bit more about the programme what we would be looking to do and you can see if its something you would be interested in, as well as picking your brains about any raves/parties etc that are coming up which might be worth checking out.I’m sorry I wouldn’t be comfatable with this. I’m not a big fan of the way the BBC edits some of it’s documentaries and considering Ofcom do not alow drugs to be portrayed in a good light on tele I severely doubt this documentary will be any diferant due to legal reasons unless there has been a change in regulation.

    Dafty x

I can understand where we you are coming from completly, however I should say that this programme is more of a scencie based documentary looking into the effects certain drugs have on the body and mind and is less about the actual users themselves. We would just be looking to find out how people feel before during and after taking a hit of different drugs such as Ecstacy.

If you do want to talk anything over then please do let me know with a contact number and I will give you a call. Also do you know of any good places to try eg forums/warehouse parties/raves etc

Any help wpould be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

as DF says this is ultimately the fault of Ofcom rules (have a look at them and you will see why) and the dudes about a decade too late anyway.

There have been fuckloads of documentaries of this nature (some of them as balanced as the rules portray them) as well as other media portrayals, many being more voyeurism and sensationalism than anything. In all cases they haven’t advanced the “debate” one bit, they just serve to entrench each sides views.
