there is supposed to be a sensible explanation for this.
The entire pig (insides and all) is fluorescent – and the idea is that if boffins transplant material from this to other pigs the colour acts as an ID marker. It could also be used to try and stop GM modified pigs accidentally ending up in the food chain I suppose – it would be easy to spot the fluoro ones, and a dayglo pork chop isn’t as appetising to most humans..
That said I can see them ending up as exotic pets and fashion accessories – it conjures up visions of a pig farmer and his fluoro animals being ordered out of a Shanghai nightclub by the Peoples Armed Police after dancing to hardhouse.
