  • My guess is this will not happen until after the summer recess but whenever the government de ide it’s even worse and ready to fuck the public, there will be a 21 day period between the announcement and the implementation.

its not as if the Police (who to be fair are finally trying to do things in a better way to how they operated 20-30 years ago) didn’t warn the govt on several occasions that such badly drafted legislation could cause more problems than it is supposed to solve.

Authorities in the East of England were quick to clamp down on retail sales via headshops after the panic over cathinones but all this appears to have done is nudged young users back towards more dangerous class A hard drugs and the associated dealing culture (this being clearly shown up in reports of arrests and court cases)

Auch wenn du am Abgrund stehst, und gar nichts mehr verstehst,
wachen Engel über dich, halten dich im Licht und lassen dich nie fallen.

Something I just read in an email. All rumour and supposition but I agree with it pretty much. Here’s the interesting portion of it.

The New Psychoactive Substances Act has passed through Parliament, received Royal Ascent and was due to come into force 6th April 2016. However, it has been postponed ‘indefinitely’ after it was pointed out by the police that it is unenforceable.

Hampshire police have written to headshop owners and others selling legal highs to warn them that it is their responsibility to ensure their products are not harmful or banned substances, and that they are not enabling the illegal drugs trade in the UK.

One very optimistic version is that it will never come into force and the best that the goverment will have done is inducing some fear, closed some head shops and moved some vendors outside UK.

This blanket ban has always been a big question mark as ALL psychoactive susbtance -except caffeine, tabacco and alcohol- are targeted the whole scientific industry and community will clearly suffer from this. As well as the food and supplements industry.

So the truth is we can’t know for sure but we will get a 21days notice before it does, if it ever does.
