Suicide explosions following domestic violence are becoming common elsewhere in Europe (perhaps because of easier access to firearms/explosives)
just west of where I live we have already had one driver deliberately put a car on a level crossing- took out an entire train
seems like the Western equivalent of suicide bombs, fuelled by individual hate and a private car being used as a weapon…
I’ve seen this a lot in crime today – people realise they are good as caught but have a nihilistic desire to fuck up as many other people on the way down
this person manages to disrupt several businesses and destroy a high value vehicle as well as themselves (I bet the MG wasn’t paid for so the finance company lose its value – but it was it could have been seized in a civil action and used to compensate the victims family)
it seems people realise that when they can’t win through crime they look for ways to make everyone else lose
Police said an MG Rover car which was travelling along the road on fire, ploughed into a shop window and burst into flames shortly before 0700 GMT.
Police said the vehicle involved was being sought in connection with murder of a Polish woman in nearby Patchway.
Officers have not yet been able to confirm whether the body is that of a man or a woman.
An eyewitness told the BBC: “Around about 7am, one of the customers said there had been explosion. A couple of the shop fronts have been damaged.”
Thornbury High Street, Castle Street and Rock Street are also closed to traffic.
