  • At least 60 people have died in the UK in the last 8 months (which is a very large number for any drug, even the harder ones)

That shit has gotten multiple people I knew of. Scourge on i.v. drug users everywhere, if it’s heroin you have a better chance of surviving an overdose because of the potency.

At least the NCA (“British Feds”) are no longer saying “don’t do drugs” but “be careful, and take note of what NHS and Public Health England are telling you” – shame it took a heap of bodies for the cops to finally start seeing sense..

I’m in the bible belt, but enough church going kids dropped dead and they’re now making it super easy to get naloxone even here.

Naloxone when properly administered is a get out of jail free card almost, very high success rate.

Only upside I’m seeing now is that heroin isn’t an other side of town drug anymore in America, anyone’s kids can get into it and addiction doesn’t give a shit how many commas are in your bank account or how any of that so awareness is spreading that it isn’t really a moral deficiency. That said addiction treatment and support groups are stuck under an old paradigm that you’re powerless to control the disease. I was browsing a book that suggested addiction is a developmental disorder.

I kinda went tangental in that last paragraph but harm reduction is always the name of the game and the more it is integrated into police and health care the better everyone will be.
