Woulda been 96 – that was the last year it was held (it would have been totally legal if they hadn’t tried to shut it down that year – due to an obscure Scottish by-law that says a festi thats been held at the same place for 10 years running gives it some sort of traditional status – basically the same thing that makes Midge death legal :weee:)

i recently moved from germany to london and now i am curious which big raves you have here, which are comparable to the mayday, nature one, sensation or love parade for example.

we don’t have any free ones like that.

if you want a big colourful rave with lots of stages, lights, top DJ’s they do exist but you are looking at paying €60-€150 ticket costs for these things.

http://www.dontstayin.com is a good place to look for these sorts of things.

unlicensed ones do happen in some areas, but they have less flash sound equipment because Police close them down and confiscate the rigs, (especiallly if they make too much noise and locals call 999 (like 112 in Germany).

well, except for the love parade the other ones aren’t free aswell…

what sort of music do you like best, and how far do you want to travel?

also by “big” rave does it need to be the huge commercial ones? what about smaller events (200-1000 people venues?) This particular website tends to deal more with those (originally we dealt with unlicensed parties, but Police made us stop advertising them)
