TBH when a fish is called “snake-mackerel”, JP and IT have banned it for sale as human food, DK and SE have sent warnings to the EU about health risks it doesn’t sound like it would be good for you anyway – if you were to consume fish miixed with added oil, candle wax and mazoet/paraffin you would certainly end up feeling rough and want to “skip to the loo” – but its cheap and large like other similar species ; apparently tastes good in small portions and US trading standards seem to be toothless it is widely mislabelled. Thankfully it does not appear to be a common food fish in Europe.
Even folk in the USA say if you must eat it only consume 170g at most….
