They rescue pregnant stray cats, and raise the kittens in a family environment so they can be rehomed more easily. As well as their biological mothers, older cats (and a dog!) teach the kittens how to behave (it is only recently that zoologists in the Uk discovered the advanced social capabilities of small cats, it was when the BBC made the Catwatch documentaries…)
