  • yes I learn that

I learned a grass roots effort may be the best way to start promoting the art of oneself

I’ve learnt that if I’d found this site earlier I would’ve saved myself a lot of wasted time and money. I’ve also re learnt that I should be more careful with my health/sanity, sometimes I need a bit of a kick up the arse unfortunately. Some of the things I’ve read have made me question some of my decisions, which is a good thing. I’ve learnt I need to be more informed. So for that I thank you guys 🙂

Yea the amount of info I got from here has stopped me making some really stupid buys lol and harm reduction when it comes to drugs is just needed in life!

Extraction from Mimosa Hostilis root bark.

Die Zugriffverletzung (DE) = access violation / segfault (EN) – for once it wasn’t a flaw in my code (which actually works) but something with the Z80 emulator running on a 64 bit system (it only happens on exit so not a major disaster)

Today i have learnt nothing :big-joint:

I learnt that no matter how much I love my country the government will just shite all over it!
Like even Ireland has legalised gay marriage, and fuck me the catholic church has had them by the balls forever.
Abortion in NI is still illegal and even last week a law was rejected to allow abortions in cases f fetal adormality

Abortion: MLAs vote against legalisation in fatal foetal abnormality cases – BBC News

Also when it comes to drugs in this country its all kinds of fucked up, from the law not giving anyone a personal amount to the paramilitary drug dealers, I shall go in a in depth rant at some point but not today lol

I’ve learnt to fiddle around with laptops….in the last 20 minutes.

    Shocking Mary, totally fucking shocking.

Why don’t catholics believe in contraception?

Because Catholic priests know little boys can’t get pregnant.

Also, how do you get a nun pregnant?

Dress her as an altar boy.

Religion is sick and how they dare impose their will on others based on some made up, pissed of arsehole, is beyond me. These cunts have tried giving me the religious bulklshit but they soon find out their bullshit can be ripped to pieces.

To be clear I have no problem with religion, just the fundamentalist wankers that try force bullshit on others.

Man u wouldn’t liked it over here, praying in school, alot!, only as of a few years now you can play football on a sunday lol

I’m the same when I was like 15 or so I went to a youth event ran by Christian s and I ended up being saved and all this shit, ended up after my granny died I thought fuck this, I had done alot of research on religion during this time and decided nope, fuck this, can’t be true, but honest for years it used to pick at me but truth be told I felt and would still feel really bad. Like guilty for slagging God yano? It’s just been drilled into me its all real, and I’m not even from a religious family.

For eg on how people are over here. I work with a good living fella who used to be a pure rave scene e head. He told me the bible is fact and that the world wqws made in 7 days and there is no way around it, Jesus I said wtf, don’t take it literally, and he was like no because God says the bible is fact lol
He also hates gays, said he wouldn’t even let one of them look after hisngirls in case he has aids or his son in case he bums him, its funny but sadly it’s how lots of ones from here are, my brother would be like that and he’s a wee hood

Oi my gran only passed like 2 years ago and before that I kindandidnt believe but always had the guilt so I kept beliveing lol

Hey I totally know exactly what you mean Mary. By age 6 I had read the bible cover to cover and found it brutal. While my family was never religious, I was taught that there was a sort of god but I thought this god was an arsehole from a very early age and was propbably less than 10 before I saw God as unneeded. My views on that will never change but other people with different views are welcome to them, as long as they don’t try force their unreasonable bullshit on others.

Yea, think how advanced as a society or even the whole human race in general would be if we didn’t have religion holding use back!

I am very each to their own and try my hardest not to judge but its hard to do that when youre having a convo with someone and they tell you straight faced that the story of Noah could and indeed did happen.

I wouldn’t ever vote sinn Finn because fuck them terrorist knobheads! No one wants a united Ireland, but I wouldn’t vote DUP because of there religious views and what they have done to the gays and women in this country.

Both my parents were to some extent religious Mum was Protestant (Lutheran) and Dad was Catholic, although Mum converted at some point, possibly when she married Dad – they had to leave Malaysia as they’d got disowned by both their families due to not having their arranged marriages.

I was initially sent to religious junior schools but they were no more full on than the secular ones about Christianity in the 1970s; we weren’t even expected to read an entire Bible as it was difficult and full of violence and scary bits – real life back then was bad enough. Modern European Catholic teaching (post Vatican II) is a lot more progressive particularly outside the English speaking countries. The “God squad” get a bad name due to a combination of more traditionalist Catholics (which infest the Anglosphere much more than elsewhere) + evangelist Protestants (the born again lot); those are the sorts who say you will go to Hell and try and ram religion down your throats.

BTW everywhere else in Europe stopped having wars between Catholics and Protestants a century or more before the UK. I only recently started listening to Radio Maria NL (I found the station by chance when they were on the old medium frequency band) initially just to improve my Dutch but found the content to be genuinely interesting – they instruct you to look beyond the Bible for spiritual guidance and point out there are many interpretations of what is found in there; they also express very tolerant views towards those of other sexualities / religions / cultures; although they do encourage traditional family structures.

There is plenty of honest and frank debate about the abuse scandals and other failings of the church as well.

A priest actually said on the youth programme you can play voetbal at any suitable time provided you play fair and work as a team; and Jesus approves. Another congratulated Groningen FC (in a mostly Protestant area) for winning the cup (which they had never managed to do for years) – BTW they also do all those marches too but there is never any trouble (it is more like carnival which is also a part of it).

Even EWTN Deutschland which I expected to be more traditionalist is similar in its outlook.

BTW When I was a kid (1977) this was in the charts (Boney M are actually Dutch/German) – which is what the rest of Europe thought about the UK….
