have a good look on the Heroin thread or even the Ecstasy thread, read all the posts and see if you still think this site glorifies drugs…
Even the “pro-drugs” posts often come with caveats over the potential adverse/negative effects of drug taking.
I will state that this site has always supported the freedom of choice to take recreational drugs; but at the same time our user community wishes to reduce the harm caused by problematic drug use – and those users who have inadvertantly been through that stage often clearly want to sort themselves out.
We have a very wide user community ranging from teenagers to those in their middle years who have a wealth of various experiences related to drug use..
I have made a number of posts myself about how recreational drug use can easily become problematic but its not a case of someone taking their first pill and becoming an “addict” ; there are a number of complex reasons for this;
One of those is the fact that drugs are illegal in the first place so those who take less harmful substances have to obtain them from criminal dealers who “sell up” to the more addictive substances to preserve their revenue stream.
this site is in fact noted by the British Home Office (Interior Ministry), Department of Health as a resource for drugs harm reduction, as well as the UN drugs agency.
You are perfectly entitled to discuss the harm caused by a drug user to yourself or your family (others have done so on here) if you wish.
However if you cannot accept discussion with community which does not support unconditional prohbition of recreational drug use (the current status quo in many countries of the World), I would suggest that you try looking at the “anti-drugs” websites of your nations Government and checking for any links there to “support groups” who may be more likely to share your views…
