  • Hi! I’m from the southern united states and we don’t have raves or anything here. I want to go to one and since I’m going to London at the end of May, I figure I can go to one then. The thing is, I don’t know where to find out about them. The people I’ve talked to say things like ‘Just ask around’ or ‘You have to know the right people’ but the only people I know that live there are my aunt and uncle and they don’t know about that type of thing. So can anyone help me?
The place I’m staying is, I think, a small city or town right outside London, but I can take a train or bus to wherever I’m going.
Does anyone have any advise of what I can do to have fun? (at a rave or as other things to do on my trip)
    Thank you so much!
also, my AIM screenname is sugarducky9 if you could message me with any help, I’d be so grateful.

What sort of music do you like mate?

    Sugar,

    While you’re here I think you have 3 options…

Free parties, club nights run by free party people and commercial events.

Unless you’re feeling particularly brave and have friends to bring with you, I wouldn’t advise a free/squat party in London because despite everyone’s best efforts they can sometimes be a bit less than friendly. Commercial events will try their damned to extract from you every penny you own, so I’d avoid them as well. While club nights run by free party people can be huge amounts of fun to the uninitiated, although with summer coming you might also think of hiring a cheap looking car and driving into the country side…

Tracking events down is easy, sign up to the site’s mail list (bacchus), also check the calendar and follow instructions…
