Regardless of what the wonderfully talented ‘MC Livelee’ might say as part of his demented history lesson, I think it’s fair to say that the majority of people would describe that kind of stuff as happy hardcore. If you asked someone in a record store for ‘hardcore techno’ in the mid 90s, more than likely you’d be given a selection of stuff played by the likes of Scorpio, Producer etc. as they did in the Technodrome at Helter Skelter etc. You’d find Vibes, Dougal, Slipmatt etc. playing happy hardcore in the next room. If you were foolish enough to attend such a gig.
