  • How old were you when you first used a substance (recreationally) besides cannabis? What did you get out of it? Why did you do it? How old were you when you started using drugs on a regular basis? How has your drug use affected your life, in a positive or negative way? And finally, do you regret your past (or present) drug abuse?

      How old was I?
I was 14-15 when i starting with beers and weed,
When i was about 17 and i used speed for a while and we had a few good places at an airport where we picked shrooms, so we had that a lot.
Around the 20 I started using cocain, still smoked weed the whole period. The cocain adventure stopped very fast because i couldn’t afford it and
the only way I could get it for free, was by doing things I didn’t want to do. When I was 21 I stopped doing drugs.
There have been periods over the years when I’ve smoked weed and taken cocain, but it have been a few.

What I got out of it?
It was an escape from life.

      Why i tried?
Because I got some friends who did. We actually were a group of 5 people who was together every day. 1 day we got a new friend and he introduced us to weed.
1 of my friend have now died of his abuse, and another one was arrested for killing his girlfriend in Sweden. and 1 is fucking crazy.

      How it effected me?
It was fun while it lasted, but I feel now I lost a lot of years doing things that would have made my life easier today.
I’ve seen a lot of friends die in my life, some of drugs and a few killing themself, I still meet some of them but they have nothing left in the top of the head.
1 is on heroin and have lost both his legs, but still go on. 2 live on the street.

      Do I regret?
No, because no matter what, it have made me to the person I am today, and I’m most of the time happy with that.
And regrets are useless, you can’t live in the past and still grow as a person. I don’t know how my life would have been without..

That was a bit more than you asked for but maybe I needed to get it out today:hopeless:

      Sorry about that….

      Hey :sign0100:

Really sorry to hear all that Angel 🙁

As soon as I woke up

Drugs used me, they told me to break in to the pantry and eat all the porridge mix……damned drugs!

this is exactly what happened to me but also it did make me more creative/sociable. I did also put a lot of time and effort in my life into trying to make a “yoof TV/radio” channel just before it was possible to do this the Internet and wanted to do this for a paying job and also become a DJ but the Internet has actually totally disrupted this career stream.

That said I reckon 70% of all IT/electronics engineers are on some kind of stim (legal or otherwise) as it is the only way you can cope with todays workloads (but a lot of them rarely get older than 40-70) –

From late 1990s until mid 2000s i could always listen to Police on my radio scanner and I often heard the Police being called to my own friends when they had done something silly like argue with their partners or family and trash the house/attack people or crash their cars – this actually taught me some respect for the Emergency Services as I realised they have to pick up the pieces of all our “fun” during the 1980s/1990s. Today you cannot listen on their voice comms as its digital and encrypted but I can still monitor some ambulance callouts via a different system and wherever legal raves are permitted every weekend there are loads of young people getting ill and needing the Ambulance.. Even today if I look on the news website of the Thames Valley Police (the area where Gaz is growing up) I see some people I know on there who have got in various trouble

However this also taught me the skills to make radio communications equipment and other computers/electric stuff work work well and to make so I can use this to help the vulnerable people at my work… at the same time I still end up watching Maus-TV, reading the tutorials from old German Professors (most of whom were around in the 1970a psychedelic times) and reading BBC Bitesize to try and learn things I really should have done at school or Uni…

My first ever “drug” was of course that damn gate-way drug Maryhuana. I was about 12 or 13 when I first took a puff when my cousins pressured me into trying it while we went to the mall.
It was a pretty wild time for how high I got but after that I didn’t smoke again until I was about 15/16.

Around 12 years old was my first puff, but when I actually started my constant use of MARYJOHANNA around the age of 15. Along with weed I started smoking decent amounts of k2. After a long stretch of those I was finally introduced to the magical entity that is psilocybin mushrooms!

I don’t smoke weed anymore, but I still heavily use acid and mushrooms when they’re around. They changed me and I spiritually love hallucinogens!

Wasn’t too long ago the a British Asian woman from some brainy science University up North linked to a similar survey which asked (in more detail) the ages when you first started with drugs; I actually had to fetch a pocket calculator to complete it as it was that long ago it was more than I could work out in my head :laugh_at:

Must be 20 years ago since I 1st smoked weed.

12 years ago since I 1st smoked weed.

Wow, did you die 12 years ago?

      I was 16
