Someone in my family has a prescription for hydrocodone and they don’t really use it and don’t plan on getting their refill. I think I can just call in the prescription and pick it up, but is it normal for the prescribed patient to get notified that there prescription is refilled? Does the fact that the prescription was refilled show up on insurance records or something?
I don’t think it would be a problem to pick up the prescription, but it might be a problem if the person in my family knows that I got there prescription without them knowing. I might sound like an addict because I am thinking about “stealing” someone’s prescription, but I figure hydrocodone is a great drug if taken at a moderate dose only on occasion. Besides, I wouldn’t even know how/where to get it if I didn’t have a prescription.
It will show on their medical records that it was refilled, so yes, if there was a problem later on and they needed insurance stuff it would be disclosed
I dont know how it works in the US but a relative and family friend can pick up a prescription but I think it has to be requested by the patient, either by email or telephone or face to face, unless it isan automatic repeat, but I’d guess something like opiates arnt usually just on going due to the addictive difficulties,
Maybe post on a US forum? as the majority of peeps on here are UK
It is obviously against the law and as TG said, it will be recorded. But in the uk my local pharmacists only ask me to confirm the address on pick up.
Its hard enough trying to buy cuprofen or paracodal here as it is!! fucking 20 questions or what!!
I just go in to detail about my periods and bleeding and it fucking shuts them up pretty quick 😛
