  • Im just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this?

I used drugs from 12 to 26 everything from spliff to heroin, even when i got off the heroin I spent a year snortin loads of K and coke and pills. Now im clean from illicits I have numerous health problems and im wondering if these are as a result of my drug use or if I always had them? My asthma is a lot worse than it used to be (3 inhalers now) And since stopping using I have been diagnosed with crohns disease (ulceration of the bowel), coeliac disease (gluten intolerance), lactose intolerance, arthritis, splenomegaly (enlarged spleen), fatty liver and post nasal drip which is apparently sometimes caused by snorting a lot of drugs, ive damaged the back of my nose/throat so much it produces mucous constantly (it feels like i have something lodged in my throat all the time and am constantly coughing up phlegm).

    IM ONLY 26 :you_crazy:you_crazy:you_crazy:you_crazy

Since the first time I took chemicals(LSD,at 16 yrs old),it was clear to me,that every “trip” had a price:something very similar as the energy bar into videogames(I really “saw” this). Each time I was taking huge amounts of chemicals,I was asking myself if it was a “good deal”:exchanging some of your life power for a deep trip into “the other reality” …The choice was mine.

I think I’ve lost some years of life ,but at this time, ain’t got no regrets:the price was not too high for me.I have the luck of never having serious health problems(I never used heroin too).but I’m sure you can link your past drug abuse to a lot of mental or physical illnesses. But long time effects(of LSD,MDMA or amfets, those I used the most) are not really studied, yet….Wait and see?

For H, it is the most destructive drug I know(I won’t learn anything to you about it).Sorry for you,but happy you went thrue,I really hope your health will increase, while you body is slowly recovering from thoses abuses…

    Never give up,never surrender!!!

this is a very good way of explaining the effect of recreational drugs…

I know lots of people in their 20s who are not even addicts but regular party people who seem to succumb to various “nasty but not life-threatening” illnesses.

the lifestyle that drugs lead people into is hard on body and mind

    • a lack of sleep and proper food,
    • physical exertion (dancing, also setting up parties)
    • going to places with large changes of temperature (such as clubs/warehouse in winter)
    • dehydration at summer parties;
    • exposure to pathogens from other humans and contaminated area due to lack of sanitation (even club toilets aren’t the cleanest places, and many people snort or swallow drugs there due to legal pressures)

then add to this the mental stresses

    • paranoia because of the risk of getting trouble from cops
    • more paranoia if you do get caught and end up processed by the criminal justice system
    • worries about what others think of you when high
    • relationship problems on comedowns
    • family problems when other family members do not accept drug use
    • anger and guilt because drug use has made your life “more difficult” such as not being able to compete for jobs due to less qualifications/lower grades

all of this, physical and mental stresses combined can and does make people very ill – and it often doesn’t matter what drugs are involved, its how much people use and how often

also many people in their 20s started drugs at age 13/14 now which is too young – and most people take their first drugs at a time in their lives when their bodies are still growing and also they are under a lot of mental stress due to education anf exams..

(I started at age 16 and TBH have just been lucky as I have had supportive family and friends who have stayed by me at times when I was doing a bit too much too often).

There is also a massive binge culture on the club and rave scene now, particularly as drugs are cheap and readily available – people don’t just do one or two pills, it is 10 in a “normal” weekend for some people as well as K, amfet, even opiates and benzos on the comedown. That IMO is way too much!

That said, like the computer game, if you know your limits and are prepared to give your body and mind time to recover (and that does mean often taking a break of weeks/months from partying or even socialisising with groups who are regular users) you should not suffer too much..

I would apreciate if you would get in contact with me asap please

    many thanks

    Elliot

mate that’s a bunch of ill health to get hit with at one time

    i feel for you

i have a friend with chron’es and from wat she says its quite rare!! so im not sure if its a result of drugs, but she hasnt touched a drug in her life so im guessing it may not be the cause.

No the crohns isn’t for sure. I guess i was wondering more about food allergies, depression etc… Ive had to go on a specific dopamine anti-depressant since stopping H which works wonders… I think my nose thing is due to snortin coke, like there was one point where me and my partner were goin through 8 gs of coke and k and maybe 50 es every weekend. And over that year i think i fukked up my nose. My problem is im an addict, and i always will be, nowadays i have a lot more control over stuff, i dont drink alcohol and rarely do any drugs any more but I have to keep this in check all the time..

Best explanation I ever had for what the effects of things we arent used to eating [over the last 1000 years as a species] is as follows:

Think of the body as a septic tank – add up all the things you put into it that it has trouble getting rid of [eg, food additives, pollution, processed foods, drugs]

Like every septic tank when the rate of shit in exceeds the speed at which your body can get rid of this shit the result is an overflowing tank which takes the form of allergies, intolerances, headaches, dis-eases [as the overflow increases in severity so do the resulting symptoms displayed]

To allow your body to catch up with its overflow and get rid of it you need to feed it things that it has been designed to process – natural foods and water not junk food and fizzy drinks, coffee, etc etc.

Avoid sugar [pure, white and deadly – it strips your body of many essential nutrients when it is disposed of], highly processed food [if you cannot recognise its basic ingredients from what is on your plate this is a serious problem for you], drink water [or diluted natural fruit juices] as most other drinks dehydrate you :you_crazy and eat enough fibre to allow your body to dump the gunk inside you [to be crude about this if you dont go for a shit at least once a day EAT MORE fibre] and limit your caffeine intake to 2 cups of coffee/tea/etc a day

It may take a while for your body to catch up but once it does you will start to feel a lot better [if after dumping all the nasties in your diet you get a evil bitch headache for a few days persevere – this is your body suddenly realising you are listening and shouting at you about the abuse you have given it][it will go away after a day or two :weee:]

After your septic tank starts to work properly – be more careful next time :groucho: be more aware of what you are putting in and its effects on you 😉
