    Mine are more long term!

I remeber going to the doctor with a really sore elbow, I could hardly move my arm. He said it was tennis elbow, I said I dont play tennis and he proceded to make an air punching movement and ask if I did anyting where moved my arm like that. At this point I had a bit of a flash back to all those hours jumpin about in ware houses generally lossing the plot :wink:

Also have long term damage to knees from jumpin up and down on concrete floors..still I got the memories..well sorta:bounce_g:

My knees and ankles are utterly fucked from concrete dancefloors. :hopeless:

True, that would be a little sad.

Surely by the time I’m old they’ll be able to replace my b0rked bits with shiny new titanium joints in a lunchtime.

that is very true, but one thing that strikes me is that i know from skiing that many people have problems caused by their natural stance, which is often a result of their individual physiology. You only need to be slighly out of good alignment to cause all sorts of problems… there are many different issues, some folks are slightly knock kneed, others slightly bow legged, also there are collapsed arches and many other small imperfections.

In skiing this is usually address by the use of orthotics, although i think good trainers are usually enough for most people when raving.

But i’m also sure that some ravers are sufferin more than they need to, cause the sheer intensity of dancing all night will bring out any small underlying issues, which are present in a significant proportion of people.

Here is some info on orthotics

Orthotics – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Profeet are reckoned to be amongst the best in the country for correcting these kind of issues, tho they mainly focus on skiers and runners. I think dancin all night long is probably the equivalent of running a half marathon, so this kind of analysis might be useful. I imagine the NHS could be used if you could get ur GP to refer you, although imagine it wouldnt be as high tech as Profeet. They are based in London…

Profeet: running shoes, ski boots fitting, custom insoles (orthotics), london | UK

Or it might well just have been the concrete floors! 😉

I definitely have bad posture but that shows more in my back and neck, endless hours at the computer. 😉

I get the worst shin splints when I’ve been out dancing now. I probably haven’t helped my cause by often choosing the shoes that go with the outfit rather than ones suitable for 15 hours dancing. :you_crazy
