- How safe is PM’s Took this line from another thread (sorry GL) Quote: no one trusts even private messages or email any more Should we trust them ? How safe are PM's ? I know it's a subject there have been talked a lot about in other threads.. But I wanted to make a tread just about that,it would be easier to find instead of a few posts in a lot of different threads.. People write PM's to eachother about illegal parties on PV,and as PV is a well known forum there must be someone checking this site.. They don't have to check the PM's on everybody here,it's very easy to find out who is writing about them.. They often say it in a thread "I'll PM you when I find something" ect ect ect. A lot of people can get in trouble because of these PM's if they aren't safe.. But I don't think that anybody here would hurt anybody on purpose,so it's a question that should be answered,to teach people to think about before they write,not only in threads but in PM's too..

- UK : East : Radioactive water leak at Sizewell A bit close to home for me :yakk::yakk: Radioactive water leaks at plant About 40,000 gallons of radioactive water leaked from a pipe at a nuclear power station which closed at the end of last year. The leak, at Sizewell A power station in Suffolk, happened on Sunday afternoon after a pipe broke. A spokesman for Sizewell said the water was contained within the plant and no one was injured. Health and safety inspectors are investigating at the plant, which had produced electricity for 40 years. 'Stopped rapidly' Its reactors are now being decommissioned. A spokesman said the escape of the water was quickly detected and "stopped rapidly". The Nuclear Installations Inspectorate confirmed it was investigating, adding that no water had left the site and there had been no contact with members of the public or workers. A spokesman said the water contained traces of a radioactive substance. Gary Smith, national officer of the GMB union, said: "The incident highlights decades of chronic under-investment in our nuclear industry. "It also comes at a time when the Government is proposing to cut funding to the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA)." Leopard creates bathroom mayhem There's a new joke doing the rounds in the western Indian city of Vadodara. How do you know that you have a leopard in the bathroom? He is the one with the 'L' on his pyjamas and spongebag. But for one household in the city, there really was a leopard in the bathroom - and it was not very interested in performing its ablutions. In fact, the animal roared with rage once it discovered that it had been locked in the bathroom by frightened members of the house. Baton charge "When we woke up in the morning, we heard noises. We saw a leopard walking into our compound," said householder Dhiren Sukhadia. "We closed all the doors, but saw him standing at the rear side of the house where we have a bathroom. "The maid was cleaning there, and we called her in. The moment we closed the door, the leopard went there and started roaring. "It kicked around the stuff lying there. We called the fire helpline and... they said they were on the way and asked us to keep all doors and windows closed." Thousands of interested spectators converged on the house on Sunday morning once news of the trapped leopard spread. They watched as frustrated forestry officials repeatedly attempted to lure the animal out of the bathroom and into a cage near the outside door. But their job was made more difficult because the noisy crowd frightened the animal from coming out. Correspondents say police were left with no choice but to fend off the onlookers with batons. The animal was eventually tranquilised and taken away. The BBC's Rajeev Khanna in the Gujarat state capital, Ahmedabad, says that it will be released into the wild in a few days' time. A spokesman for the Gujarat Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals says that the leopard probably came from the jungle near the city. - Snake thieves slip up Boy wrapped snake round neck Snake Thieves Slip Up A mother and son accused of stealing a snake from a pet shop were arrested the next day - when they returned to the store and asked for books on how to care for the animal.:you_crazy Shop assistants recognised the suspects from surveillance video taken during the theft and stalled them until police arrived. The video showed the 15-year-old taking the 75-centimetre baby boa from its cage, wrapping it around his neck and hiding it with his jacket, while his mother acted as a lookout, said police. The video appeared to show the head of the red-tail boa sticking out of the boy's jacket collar, police said. Mother and son were arrested three days before Christmas. The snake, worth £150, was recovered from their home and returned to the shop in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio. Sebrina Hill, 35, faces theft charges and will appear in court next month. Her son was placed in the custody of relatives.

- UK : Scot : Impatient dog catches train home alone… Labrador Archie takes train home An impatient dog caught the train home in Aberdeenshire after becoming separated from his owner. The black labrador, Archie, boarded the First ScotRail train from Aberdeen to Inverness at Inverurie Station. Mike Taitt, 60, from Oyne, feared the worst after his headstrong eight-year-old dog disappeared. But he received a phone call to say Archie had stepped off the train at Insch Station and was waiting for him - just three miles from his house. Mr Taitt said: "Archie is very intelligent and definitely has a mind of his own. "I think he got on that train because he thought I was on it. "I couldn't believe it when I got the call from the station saying: 'We've got your doggie'." Mr Taitt, who has an interest in trains, had been driving home when he decided to stop at Inverurie Station to look at the Royal Scotsman train, which was in the station. He left Archie on one of the platforms and went across the bridge to look at the train but by the time he returned his dog was already on the 2005 BST service to Inverness. Archie got off the train when it stopped at Insch and was spotted by a signalman, who found his contact details on his collar and phoned Mr Taitt. The incident, which happened earlier this month, has now been recorded in the official log-books of First ScotRail, British Transport Police and Grampian Police. SSPCA spokeswoman Doreen Graham said: "I think it is quite easy to underestimate the intelligence of animals. "The fact that Archie got on the right train was probably a coincidence, but he probably knew which stop to get off at because he recognised local smells which made him know he was close to home. "I think it is quite amazing - Archie obviously doesn't like to be kept waiting."
