NEXT - what can I say, really sorry about this. After our first one at Command House on 6th August, the landlord now says the 26th was never confirmed, It is his word against the soundman's who told us it was confirmed weeks back.
We only wanted to play a bit of dance music outside by the river - weve spent loads on flyers, time on internet and now he says this, and there is nothing we can do.
We have been promised dates next year, but who knows, if there are, Ill personally confirm them next time.
BUT its been 2 years of rock/metal covers college bands at Command House, and this was not the first cancellation we had from there.
Feel free to complain to them, and to come down to PULSE anyway from 10pm, where we'll be pushing the new soundsystem to the limit .

UK : East : Ipswich praised for race relations I agree with the report to an extent but TBH I think much of the stability more because of the CCTV and cops constantly watching everyone (and stopping fights in town etc fairly quickly) and "market-led multiculturalism" (i.e people have to do business with each other so hold back their real feelings in order to keep the customers) - rather than a real tolerance and acceptance of other cultures....
that said it comes across as better than in other regions of Eastern England and is probably as good as things are ever going to get in this country or even the World..

AS THE foiled terror plot to blow up transatlantic flights causes tensions between ethnic groups nationwide, a community leader from Ipswich has today praised the town for its admirable race relations.
Sushil Soni, honorary vice president of the Ipswich and Suffolk Council for Race Equality, has spoken in the aftermath of last Thursday's attempted mid-flight bombings.
While Muslim leaders across Britain are working tirelessly to restore trust between different faiths, Mr Soni has commended the attitudes in Ipswich.
Mr Soni, who moved to the UK from India in 1962, said: “Community relationships in Ipswich are very strong.
“The effect of September 11 in New York and the July 7 London bombings by terrorists hardly left any scar on the town of Ipswich and I'm happy to say that seems to be the case with the latest terror scare.
“It has caused tension across the country but here in Ipswich we should recognise the fact the groundwork has been done to stop it.
“I heard a couple of people in the town saying they had a funny look on the streets after 9/11 or 7/7 but it soon filtered out. We are very lucky here.”
Mr Soni is among a group of community leaders from ethnic minority groups who have strived to maintain good relations, working closely with the police and civic authorities.
He is a founder member of the Ipswich and Suffolk Indian Association, a teacher for SIFRE, the Suffolk Interfaith Resource, a member of the local education authority's Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education (SAFRE) and secretary for the Eastern Region Unison Black Members Group.
Mr Soni said: “Of course there's always more which can be done to build on the existing relationships. “One of the reasons we held an Indian mela festival this summer was to get people together - it was a great gathering.
“We make people aware we are always here and willing to help.”

"More Propaganda Than Plot" - Former British Ambassador on Alleged UK Terror Plot
Questions have been raised over whether British authorities were pressured by the United States to make the arrests last week in the alleged terror plot to blow up transatlantic airliners. We speak with former British ambassador Craig Murray who says, "The one thing of which I am certain is that the timing is deeply political. This is more propaganda than plot." A judge in Britain has ruled police have until next week to continue to hold 23 suspects arrested in the alleged plot to blow up airplanes bound for the United States.
British police arrested 24 people in raids last week. One person has since been released. No one has been charged with a crime.
A senior British official told NBC News that British police were planning to continue to run surveillance for at least another week to try to obtain more evidence. The British official suggested the attack was not imminent, saying the suspects had not yet purchased any airline tickets. Some did not even have passports.
Now, a former British ambassador is suggesting that the timing of the arrests has been deeply political and should be viewed with skepticism. Craig Murray is Britain's former ambassador to Uzbekistan. He was removed from the post two years ago in part because of his outspoken criticism of Uzbekistan's human rights record.

The British government is reportedly considering an airport screening system that would include identifying passengers by their ethnic or religious background. Security at British airports was radically tightened last week after authorities claimed they foiled the alleged terror plot. Increased passenger searches have caused significant delays at airports in Britain and calls have increased for profiling to select travelers for searching.

Women with a low libido Hiya, just wondering if there's any other women out there who suffer from low sex-drive? airport screening by race there have been some media reports that the British govt is considering introducing airport security screening accoring to ethic origin (read: persecution for travelling while Asian)
bearing this in mind, in the recent climate of extreme security in London's airports, I thought it was interesting that my white (but non-british) wife was allowed to enter the country through a London airport with a foreign passport that has broken during the journey; the ID page had become detatched from the passport and the photo was sliding around inside the detached, laminated page
I'm pleased, obviously, that the immigration service allowed some leaway and were kind enough to overlook this, so that she could come 'home' from visiting her family
but I wonder what would have happened if her skin was a different colour?
