Earn $50 grassing up a pot smoker. Saw this posted on BoingBoing.net :
"Every year on 4/20, students and residents gather on Farrand Field at CU Boulder to defy the authorities and smoke marijuana publicly. This year, the University of Boulder Police Department fought back by taking pictures of as many participants as possible. They have a website with photos up, offering an $50 reward to anyone who positively identifies someone who was photographed. Nothing about what the authorities plan to do with the information is posted. Scary."

This is pretty scary, you can see from the link that a fair few have already been identified.
Music and Majick in the UK! Music and Majick in the UK!
http://www.trancersguide.com/u.k..html
The UK has a very rich ancestral history, and an enduring connection to Mother Earth that is near unexplainable. You can find many mysterious and majikal places like the Glastonbury Tor, Stonehenge, Avebury, Crop Circles and all are connected in some way with music! From the druidic chants at Stonehenge and Avebury, to the many musical references found in the Crop Circles (which are by the way in season from April to August). You can find a rich history here and no matter what part of the UK you're in, the beautiful lush countryside is always a short drive away.
The UK rave scene started in the late 80s before trance was even defined as such. Rave culture seemed to peak in the summer of 1992 when the biggest commercial raves attracted 25,000 to 35,000 people while the illegal techno traveller festival at Castlemorton Common drew an estimated 30,000 to 40,000. There's no doubt that the UK has spawned some of the top labels and producers in the psytrance scene. Labels such as Phantasm, TIP, Twisted, Dragonfly, Flying Rhino, Transient, and artists like Hallucinogen, Prometheus, Tristan, Eat Static, Darshan, Infinity Project, MWNN, Green Nuns of the Revolution, OOOD, Joti Sidhu, and Cosmosis helped paved the way for many … and the talent still keeps coming and suprising us at every turn!
Organic Records has proven serious staying power and is still going strong, with a superb debut album by Voice Of Cod last year and new releases coming this summer by both Chris Organic and OOOD, not to mention the launch of a chill side to the label. Other labels giving us great music now are Alchemy with Rinkadink, Dark Soho, Freakulizer, Broken Toy; Nano with Aphid Moon, Commercial Hippies, Hydrophonic, Protoculture, and Ambivalent with Scorb, NRS, and Deviant Species. This year also sees the return of Transient with a new comp by DJ Kristian - called »Resurrection« - and lots of new plans including new progressive releases on Automatic. Newer labels to emerge are also putting their mark on the scene. Liquid Records (arising from the infamous underground crew Liquid Connective) houses artists such as S>Range, Tron, Fromem Ory, as well as a chillier side such as Organismic, Slack Baba, Mood Deluxe, Nagual Sound Experiment. Wild Things Records focus on the release of UK based underground psytrance, playing host to EVP, Error Corrective, Hoodwink and Reality Grid. Although new, both labels have made an imprint in the psychedelic scene extending far beyond the UK and you can expect many 2006 releases, as well as appearances by artists from both labels at festivals and parties around the globe!
Chill/Downtempo rooms at parties have always been prevalent and hugely popular, and are definitely the hot spot to hang out and enjoy a cup of chai. The music you will hear now is not what most people expect from the term »chill« but can encompass everything from ambient to roots to booty shaking electronica, just kept on the downbeat. The »new« chill is crossing genre boundaries and evolving to include more IDM, DnB, and Breaks. Nano and Breaksday are teaming up for an event called STIR – May 13 and Liquid Recs are releasing a psybreaks album this year by Mood Deluxe, so keep your eye open as you will start seeing more DJs meshing the two. Downtempo rooms throughout the world will be playing host to UK based Ott, Western Rebel Alliance, Flexitones, Slack Baba, Organismic, Nagual Sound Experiment, Graham Wood, Tripswitch and Nova.
The English summer provides many outdoor parties »renegade« style. Barefoot hippies relish in the sun, dance under the stars, and celebrate the sunrise. Festivals are a plenty as well with the Big Chill, Turaya, Glade, and Glastonbury all which have lineups catering to all music lovers, and all are kid friendly. There are many quality crews and organizations throughout the UK. In London, Antiworld hosts large-scale indoor events; Liquid Connective, well known for being one of the premier underground crews; Fairy Tales will celebrate four years of multimedia-focused events this year; The Synergy Project, a multi-room culturally rich and diverse monthly, Mindscapes will be back with some great parties this year and lastly there’s Chichime, hosted in Brixton @ the Mass. In Kent, Omniscience have wonderful in- and outdoor parties. Heading out west on the M40 you'll run into Baraka in Oxford, who will this year be celebrating its eighth year by doing many collaborative events with other UK labels and organizations. Bristol is home to Tribe Of Frog, Planet Shroom, Freefall Monkey, and Hoi Pol Loi - all providing quality lineups to a very tight trance scene, the largest scene in the UK outside of London. Not far from Bristol is Toadstool in Gloucester; down south is Party Possible, Insight Dynamiks and finally in the North, Leeds has Cabbage and Sheffield has Planet Zogg, both mixing trance and techno with psytrance. Bradford houses Kulu, you'll find Sunrise in Manchester and Alien Resonance in Liverpool. There have also been many new psy nights rearing their heads recently including Stereo Chemistry and Mess Media in Birmingham, the student run Crystal Yamantaka in Leeds, Psycle in Nottingham and FatMoon who do indoor free parties in Sheffield. Just across the water we have Dream Tunnel who are doing monthly parties now and who are hosting Irelands first psy fest in June, www.life-festival.com with Eskimo, Kristian and John Phantasm. Last but not least is Scotland: Divinorum does smaller events with UK artists, and The Wickerman Festival hosts techno, psy, and chill areas.
Some highlights of 2005: Kundalini came back this year for a most impressive ten year anniversary party, Synergy Project opened the new Synergy Centre allowing for many smaller events with some of the UK’s best kept secrets, and Psy-Forum.co.uk's fundraiser where all artists played for free to supporting our forum. As well we have now seen the birth of the webbased New Wave Radio program, which was set up in conjunction with Ministry of Sound as a vehicle to promote the global psychedelic sound to a wider audience ... and this is just the beginning!

“This is not a mind trip…. This is a body journey!”
PV is reaching out to the East… not just East Anglia (although we now appear to be picking up a significant amount of traffic from this area),
I've also noticed an increasing amount of lurkers from Asian countries - mostly Japan, Malaysia, Singapore and India...
For many language and censorship may be a barrier (apparently some ISPs filter all messageboards both incoming and outgoing; anything "dodgy" is reported to security forces) and discussing controversial stuff like drugs etc can get you busted under "terrorism" laws..
but the usage patterns seem to indicate people genuinely interested in our content rather than spammers looking for an opportunity to get a sales pitch in..

Dali Live Feat Hectic Album Launch @ ISRAliens 2006 @ The Coronet Sat 20 May 2006 Antiworld
Feat: Astrix / Dali / Xerox & Illumination / Oforia (Live)
Saturday 20 May 2006 @ The Coronet Elephant & Castle London
10.00pm t0 07.00am
Dali (HOMmega / Israel ) "Hectic" - Album Launch
Dali dances with the crowd. The event at the Coronet is going to showcase her debut album ‘Hectic’ released by HOMmega records. Dalit Eizner (Dali) is one of the few women in the psytrance scene making an entrance as a production artist. Her sets have definitely gotten better since 3 years ago when she started to DJ and curb her interests into producing psytrance. Dali’s sets are inspired by the likes of Astrix and Infected Mushroom. Bubbly and energetic she seems most happy when she’s onstage performing for the crowd. Spinning her new sound and screaming into the microphone Dali is aiming to give her best performance at the Antiworld event.

We will have 11k of the highest quality P.A set up on a large hardstanding by the beach, where we have a a stage and bar with toilet facilities nearby. We partied here for 2 weeks in the middle of June, then again in september last year which went off a treat. Sonic Sound-System are coming down too , along with north london crew arena sound sytem -- between em giving us a lot of techno, then some dub and reg for good measure- one system down chillin on the sand , whilst unsoundsystem will be set up as a live stage and dance stage in the night - another doin the techno-in the woods-- Gonna grow a bit from last year - lets see where it goes? There are several ways of getting down there either by train, plane or car - there's a link on the links page to seat-61 which is a booking agent for trains across europe - it's eurostar to paris-sleeper train to bologna and then train in the morning for a few hours through italy - nice- it costs around 140 return To fly you can either get ryanair to Bari or Brindisi -prices are a bit higher to there than last year - around 65 return at the moment, although quite a lot of people are flying into Rome or Milan with ryanair, seats still available for a fiver or 12, depending what time you go - there are 5 flightd a day in and out of Rome - easy - the cheapest way is definately to fly to milan/rome/pescara/ancona with ryanair - train from rome to metaponto is 30 euro - 20 - it's a nice way to do it - across italy then down the coast - 5or 6 hours rome - metaponto There are 2 campsites providing a variety of accomodation, ranging from camping to 4 star self catering chalets. The campsites are located in a beautiful pine wood bordering the sandy beaches of Metaponto down in the south of Italy. Metaponto is on the instep of the boot of Italy on the coast of the Ionian sea, perfect for partying. The campsites also have bar, restaurant and minimarket facilities. The accomodation prices are: Camping - £6 per person per night. Basic chalets range between 12 and 15 pounds per person per night depending on size/aircon etc. This is a child friendly event with several of the crew bringing kids. To book accomodation get in touch through beachparty@unsound-system.org.

KSS Sound System Just to let you know that due to massive bandwidth problems the server company have switched the KSS website off. We are working with them on resolving this and should be back up and running later today. If all else fails we hold several other servers with different companies that different parts of the KSS site function from and we have a backup so may result in rebuilding the site on one of these. If it comes to that then it may take till next week to get it up we'll just have to wait and see.
If any of your are tech type people out there, here's some stats the cause the site to cause problems on there server! 27GIG of data transfer so far this month. Unique hits have climbed to over 1600 a day (especially since our return from Frenchtek). Total space that the site takes up is 1.7 gigs worth of data on the server in question.
The chaps at the server company are a little concerned about the bandwidth usage impacting on other customers and the power consumption of the server?!?!!
Anyways were on it and were ok, so don't worry!
The only other thing that's likely is that the MP3 mixes will be offline for a few days while these are moved to one of our other servers. . this should share the load and is our bargaining point with this server company that the site will not take up as much resources in the future.
Sorry that the Frenchtek photos/videos and all that are offline. . . well annoying since we just got back and then our website gets switched off!
Gig wise - Were at Juno in Shoreditch this sat for a record launch party for http://www.3phazegenerator.co.uk our friend who plays live at some of the gigs. . .
See you soon

Hey Mr DJ put a record on....
Mr DJ wont you turn the music up?
Yo DJ... spin that wheel!
I could go on.... But I wont.
They touch all of our lives no matter what styles of music you like and even if you are a live music stalwart it cannot be denied that a good DJ can make you happy! (admittedly there are some that may make you very sad because they are rubbish but hey, after a few more drinks you could probably explain that to them).
So the new issue of CT pays tribute to the DJ. Choc full of record stores, equipment hirers and retailers and of course venues, there is also a very interesting interview with man about town Mr Luke McD, who in the forthcoming two issues will be keeping us updated on his current European tour alongside Bubble & Squeak.
So, onto this weekend if you are stuck for ideas...
