Manchester's Skam Records have been one of the leading figures in the electronica scene over a decade, the home of Gescom, the shadowy collective that revolves around Autechre and the label that launched Boards of Canada onto the wide world. When the Electronica Hall of Fame is opened in Sheffield in 2150, Skam will surely be among the first labels to be inducted.
With live sets from all of their big hitters including their latest signing Massonix, the solo project of 808 State's Graham Massey and an all night DJ soundclash featuring Gescom, this should prove to be another massive night in Poke history.
Tickets are limited for this event, we'll keep some back for the night, but to avoid dissapointment we reccomend booking in advance.
Tickets are just £10 in advance, available from Ticketweb or Poke Records, 20 Denman Street, W1 and will be £13 on the door.

Unique 3's Left of Centre night originally ran at the Middlesborough Arena where the likes of Afrika Bambaataa, DJ Zinc, DJ Skully, Dee-Kline and EZ Rollers, kept the party going with a block rocking mix of hip-hop, breaks, electro and drum and bass.
After an incredible launch party, LOC returns to Jacks with another night of across the board breaks, beats and bass pressure. In the main room we have rave legends Altern 8 playing a specially selected set of classic detroit and chicago tracks, add to that jacking house, electro and breaks from Unique 3, Deekline and Fil OK.
In the red room we have an allstar lineup from one of the UKs best labels, Tru-Thoughts, we have back 2 back sets from Hint & Diesler and Natural Self & Nostalgia 77 plus dj sets from Flevans and Poke Records John Power.

Abolition of Parliament? Hello.
I got directed to this story from another board, and it looks a little worrying.
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,1072-2049791,00.html
there's a Schnews version of the story, too.
http://www.schnews.org.uk/archive/news534.htm
The one sentence which instills the most fear in me is in the Times article which says (and I quote) "The Government claims that there is nothing to worry about..."
Run for the hills.

K90 Live Biography:
Mark Doggett, one of two original founder members of the then little known KA90, began making noise and upsetting the neighbours from a makeshift studio in his kitchen back in the summer of 1991! Fast forward over a decade and K90 is now a highly respected producer, performer and DJ with a fan base touching many countries around the world. Famed for his enthusiastic DJ and more notably 'live' shows K90 has performed at many of the worlds premier dance events including 'Godskitchen - Global Gathering', 'Creamfields', 'SW4' and 'Tidy Weekender' series (UK), 'Dance Valley' and 'Q-Base International Dance Festival' (The Netherlands), the long running 'Advent*jah' Festival (Australia), The Gallery (South Africa) and 'Checkpoint Charlie' (New Zealand) to name but a few. Combine these performance credits with regular headline slots at some of the UK's biggest clubs such as 'Antiworld', 'Logic', 'Polysexual', 'Frantic', 'Slinky', Wildchild' and 'Goodgreef' and you are faced with is now a truly global brand.
Credited for his numerous productions, releases and remixes K90 is responsible for creating the clubland phenomenon that is 'Red Snapper' - arguably one of the most renowned hard dance tracks ever made! Not content merely with single releases Mark also boasts four artist albums (K90, Urban Anthems, The Inner Limits, Destinations) and two DJ compilations (Recoverworld 2 - Sub Culture, Wildchild) to an ever increasing production portfolio fueling the opinion that K90 is one hottest names in dance music today!Following on from a long and fruitful relationship with long time record label 'Recover Records' Mark's love affair with the dance music industry continued to grow with the launch of his own label 'Dataless Recordings' imprint in 2004.
With the label project now in its third year this greater challenge has given an artist whose name and reputation are already synonymous with quality, license to develop the K90 Empire even further.

The heads behind the name... Claudio Pettanice (22) and Marco Guardia (21) discovered their passion for electronic music during their school days. The two friends shortly lost contact in order to persue their own interests only to re-join forces to start producing their first tracks together. 'The Art Of Knowledge', was released in March 2000.The summer of 2000 proved to be the youngsters' breakthrough when they were signed to legendary Frankfurter label 'Overdose'. Their follow up single 'Folie A Deux' was released on Pulse, a sublabel of 'Overdose'. The single topped numerous sales charts in renowned DJ stores, averaging number 10. It recieved massive support from DJ's worldwide and was featured in many playlists, including Paul van Dyk's.
Their follow up single 'Isn't It All A Little strange?' got as far as number 3 of the Discomania sales charts in Germany and number 1 in the export charts. Both of the tracks were licensed for various CD compilations including: Gatecrasher, Technics DJ set, Tunnel Trance and many more.S.H.O.K.K have their third single in the pipeline, due for release in the winter of 2002/03.
