A Teknival is a free non-commercial weekend-long gathering, a celebration of the DIY (do it yourself) attitude, and an experiment in non-hierarchical organization. The festival encourages group autonomy and self-sufficiency.
Teknival is free from an entrance fee, but also from authority and leadership. Each individual or group is free to get involved however they want, for the love of what they do.

There is private property near the site - please respect it so the party can go on!!!
Crown land rules: it is LEGAL for us to be on Crown Land provided we play by some simple, and often complimentary rules.
1) the regular laws apply regardless of permit
2) no permanent damage or changes are allowed without a permit
3) no profit may be made on Crown Land without permit
4) we can be there for as long as 3 weeks
5) it is for use by all members of the public, which means we can not limit access to it and must share it!
so the law supports the gift-exchange free spirited essence of teknival!
Bring enough food, water, shelter and supplies for yourself and everyone you bring up. Get together with friends into camps to share resources and responsibility. Buy in bulk to save money and garbage. More about what to bring with you
Toilets will NOT be provided. BURY YOUR OWN SHIT! Learn how to properly shit in the woods.
Clean up after yourself and those around you. Take out what you bring in (all your garbage fit in the car on the way up, it will fit on the way home too!). Leave no trace. Help clean up before you leave
