Legalize Amsterdam june 5th 2004 + After party well let's see if I can make a party review
last saturday was the Legalize streetrave, this is a demonstration for legalisation of Drugs
everybody has a different view about the exact reason for this demonstration, for me it means that Drugs should be taken away from the criminal list and should be added to the wellfare deparment

last week the Zirk organisation decided to participate at this street rave and we strated preperations on friday night

the plan was to go there the night before, build up some tents and stay camping
the final preparations started saturday morning at 9 am
we had 3 deejays for the day and nice decorations, some of which where specially made for this day
like the weed leave at the front of the truck

our motto was Blow your mind, the rest will follow (all sounds systems where asked to place a motto on the truck)
at 12 o'clock the trucks should move from the preparation erea to the waterlooplein in the centre of amsterdam
because we where not finished at 12 the complete rave had to wait for us ;) (this is really Zirk style, always a little late)
after arriving at the waterlooplein we where told that we had to go to the tunnel we would be crossing because the authorities demand more volunteers for a save passage

I choose a place at the end of the tunnel, because there the sounds systems could turn on the music again
it was not allowed to play music inside the tunnel (the tunnel is 1,8 km long)
but what a sight it was, thousands of people just followed the first truck

I do not know how many people attended the Demo but must have been at least 10.000 (I am very bad at estamating how many)
when we arrived back at the starting place the party really started
26 sounds systems where placed on a big terrain
the music varried from industrial noise to goa trance, from hiphop to reggea, there was hardcore tekno, Acid music, club house
everything was there

after the party really heated up we where order to stop at 7 pm because there had been fights among large groups of footbal hoolings
it seems some of the hardcore partygoers have direct links with some hardcore footbalfans and they decided to have their own party :(

because we where stopped early we had to find a sloution for the after party which should start arround 11 in amsterdam somewhere
this time we had a truck with the sound system on it so all we had to do was close the sides of the truck, take the generator in and move ;)
a little over an hour later we where at the after spot

there it was easy :)
open one side of the truck, take the genrator oout, start it up and play music
already the first people where there and everything else would arrive later (extra deco, chai shop, fluo shop etc)

I hope you all enjoyed it three quarters as much as i did or you didn't half have a good time.
And in particular a very special thanks to the guy who left a message on the infoline when he was lost to tell us "you're full of fucking shit, i can't understand a word of that". The other 400 people had the skills to follow the very simple directions, sorry mate, hope it all worked out.
