NiGHtMaRe – RTTU666 – MAY 22ND *Toronto, Canada* NiGHtMaRe :: Return To The Underground # 6 6 6
MAY 22ND, 2004 :: Toronto, Canada
6 years later, countless companies and parties thrown, plenty of faces and fun times, yet, one constant remains. Nightmare. We will always love the underground, the music, the dirty nasty washrooms, the sketchy Sunday mornings, and most of all YOU, the fun loving ravers. We do it because we love it. We do it because we can. We do it because life would be boring if we didn’t. This time the # is 6 so we picked the 6 resident dj’s who have held it down since day 1, added some of Toronto’s freshest spices and topped it with 2 of our favorite headliners of all time. Enjoy !!! We do. - P.L.U.R.
D.A.V.E. THE DRUMMER – London UK
HARD TECHNO
A legend and a machine, and Canada’s favorite techno dj. Henry Cullen aka DAVE the Drummer has appeared on virtually every good techno and acid label out there in the last decade from his own label Hydraulix to such legendary labels as Stay Up Forever, Smitten and Cluster just to name a few. He has also been known to lay down some of the best, most memorable sets of all time with his fast paced mixing, impeccable track selection and smooth transitions from build to crazy build. Don’t miss this legend in action as he gets ready to stomp us once again with his pounding techno music.
FUCK PUPPETS – Toronto
LIVE TECHNO PUNK BAND
Something new for you. If you haven’t noticed by now these riot grrrls are cleaning up in the techno-electro-punk world. Toronto’s newest sensation and surely the next big thing in the underground. Two Moots! UK ravers : there are two moots in May - on 2004-05-15 and 2004-05-29.
That is all I am at liberty to say here but those who are in the know will know these are worth attending!
Spiderman vs Scotland Yard This chap protested not being able to see his kid by climbing a huge crane in London, England whilst dressed as Spiderman; he stayed up there six days!
Whilst I don't have children, a good friend of mine was having problems getting access to his son because he took him to a free party (it is not abnormal outside London for kids to come to smaller free parties with their parents) and whilst of course he looked after his son well and did not take drugs his ex-partner complained..
http://society.guardian.co.uk/children/story/0,1074,1217419,00.html
anyway the spiderman chap won his case, and set a legal precedent which could be good for us on the party scene - he proved that when the Police increase disruption by road closures to try and prevent a protest or other action happening by using "disruption" as a bargaining point they are exacerbating the situation, not the original activist..
and how many times have the Police just caused further traffic congestion in rural areas by setting road blocks to stop free parties etc?
Well done Spiderman :)

tribe of munt Had a great time at the tribe of munt party last night. Having not been out in London for a while finding such a positive atmosphere and great tunes was very much appreciated. Very fucking amused by the hard house party full of antipodians down the road and majorly glad to have figured out it wasn't the party we were looking for before we went in.
Ketty and DMT Anyone know where I can get some good ketty and DMT from around the Bristol area??
Please let me know
Cheers

Throbbing basslines and beer...
It’s what Sunday afternoons are all about!
Everyone knows that Sunday is the first day of the week. Who really wants to start their week sitting on the sofa, scratching their arse and watching Hollyoaks? Wouldn't you rather be boogying? Come on!
Celebrate the Sabbath in real style with techno heroes Ben Long, Mark Broom, Marco Lenzi and Jeff Amadeus.
We know some people will have had a hard weekend, so we'll keep it funky. Our cocktail always knocks ‘em out... Two parts trendy cola to one part Squatjuice, with a generous twist of the hard stuff.
Talking of hard stuff, our man DJ A.N.I.M.A.L. will be launching his new label, Blamed Records, on the day.
And it's only seven quid... cheaper than a trip to Homebase!
For those who don't know...
Ben Long is one half of the legendary Space DJz, who brought Detroit to London (and probably the other way round). Their Electro-infused brand of techno has rocked the world's dancefloors a few times over and even Pete Tong's shown an interest, bless him. Ben also does a fine job running the Potential label, which has given a home to many a bad-boy (Umek, Ade Fenton, Chris McCormack).
Mark Broom is a London techno heavyweight, making regular appearances at all the best parties (Retroverts, Wang and the rest). One of the UK's hardest working techno producers (Roku, Rue East, Greenwich Allstars), he has built up his Pure Plastic imprint into one of the world's finest techno labels.
Marco Lenzi is the friendly face behind Eukatech Records. The smooth Italian isn't afraid to throw a bit of house music in the mix, his two labels Molecular and Who Cares? showcase his funky, Latin influenced style of techno music.
Jeff Amadeus’ three-deck wizardry has made him somewhat of a cult hero. He doesn’t come out to play too often, but when he does, he comes out guns blazing. His label, Squat Records, is home to some seriously innovative techno that fuses the minimal perfection of Underground Resistance with the frenetic poundings of Manu le Malin.
DJ A.N.I.M.A.L. is a familiar face on the London party scene and long-time KSS collaborator. He has finally sorted himself out in the studio, and the resulting Blamed Records release is worth the wait.
KSS have been running Sunday techno sessions around London for five years, and have finally decided to do some proper promotions, although they’re still a bit worried it might ruin their underground credentials.
