It may not be that well known under that brand; but was what was once known as "HP Semiconductors" who helped invent LEDs and all sorts of other useful things. Its brains seem to be in Singapore rather than the USA which might be why the US don't shout about it as much....
Agilent (spun off from HP around the same time) might be better known; they make high quality test equipment for people much brainier than I am and whose labs have bigger pockets. Then again not many people seem to know about NXP but "Philips Semiconductors" is familiar at least to those in their 30s and above; a friend in Malaysia who is my age (but is far cleverer, became a Professor in Scotland, teaches electronic repair to half of Asia and speaks about 5 languages) still refers to the "Philips Semiconductor guide" even though its now an NXP datasheet catalogue.
Broadcom today make a lot of important chips used widely in laptops, desktops, embedded systems and the Raspberry PI.

Ironically some of the customers of NPS suppliers are the Police and NCA; not because of any dark conspiracy but because its a safe way of obtaining chemicals to train detectives and sniffer dogs with; without the hassle of getting a Home Office license for the "real stuff"..

Coming up too quick on mdma?! So last weekend i was at a mates house it was only the 4 of us as a few mates couldnt make it , we were all taking MDMA but me and freind A were taking capsules that we bought for £10 while freinds B and C had a gram between them amd they were taking lines. Total unverständlich für den Großteil der Menschheit: Feiern ist nicht mein Ding. Damit bin ich wohl ein Exot in meiner Generation, allerdings habe ich einfach keinen Bock in einen Saal zu rennen in dem lauter RTL Zuschauer zu Atzenmusik am herumpogen sind. Das sind persönliche Präferenzen und nur die Richtige wird mich davon überzeugen können es noch einmal mit ihr auszuprobieren.
Dabei halte ich meine Einstellung für ziemlich: Pro Frau.
Denn ich bin für die Gleichberechtigung. Das ich bei der schönsten Nebensache der Welt Spaß haben werde, steht für mich ausser Frage. Nur die guten Frauen mal wieder, sie sind nicht so leicht zufriedenzustellen. Aber das ist mein Ziel! Irgendwo muss ich ja meinen Horizont erweitern.
