in my area large age differences in relationships (but still within legality) are far from uncommon. I don’t think its as big an issue at people make it out to be, especially as its often easier to look far younger than you actually are (I am lucky as I am of SE Asian ancestry and we generally look younger). Although 18 would be on the very young side for me, I definitely would go for a younger girl not because of wanting to be a “dirty old man” or have more control, but that women my age usually already have one or more children by other men and I can’t be bothered with looking after stepkids or worse, would even be tempted to produce one of my own simply not to feel cuckolded which is of course wrong and old fashioned especially as I would otherwise not want a kid

The only issue I can see with parents is if you are of a ethnic or cultural group where they are more conventional but even then most parents will accept a genuine relationship.

However with regard to children, be aware a lot of men both young and old no longer want them. Its not because they don’t like kids but they are a lot of looking after and expense in a increasingly uncertain world, My own dad was careless about his contraception – I was intended for the late 70s rather than the early 70s) and this made a big impact for a then young mixed race couple growing up in times of economic depression like today. (at least he waited until then or I would have grown up in Singapore!)

And its not going to make humans go extinct if a few of us choose not to have children, and there are also many careers / professions you could take if you want to help children but have none of your own.
