I went to Boom a few years back (cant remember when) its a good festival, theres a beautiful lake at the site which is great to cool off in as it does get a bit warm! Its great to dance outdoors in the sunshine tho…the main dance area is outdoors and loads of cafes to chill out in in the shade. The music was good, mostly psytrance, cant recall seeing any other dance areas…but cafes usually play some good tunes as well.. I wanna go again but this year am off to Ozora festival in Hungary and the Boom festival is the weekend after and unfortunatly unable to get more time off work. 😥

Thinkin of going to the next Boom festival tho:wink:

Forgot to mention… when I went they had Boom money which you exchanged your euros for! I think meals were like 5 euros/ boom money…cant remember how much that worked out in £ at the time. Probably average festi prices I should imagine.

There were ppl selling various hallucinogens! I remember being woken up by the ppl in the tent in front of us shouting ”Does anyone want any Acid, Mushrooms, Extascy, Marrijuana…” :weee::crazy_diz:crazy_dru:laugh_at:

Yeah the heat is sometimes too much when dancing outdoors, but I love the heat! If the lake is still there you can cool off. Last time I went the lake looked like it had receded quite a long way down the hill as there were water type markings on the ground.

got all my tickets months ago:love:
website says thers gona be loads of differnet music this year:

Four music stages, new concepts and the continued attitude: a love for alternative music. Guided by an intense open-minded spirit.

Sound-wise, the main novelty in Boom is a new music area. It is a space where you can be in touch with the finest and latest in music.

Groovy Beach is the new main area of Boom with a huge emphasis on the latest music breakthroughs. You can dance from minimal to dubstep, glitch to IDM or glide in butter music, check out the upgrades in the DVJ domain, and get amazed with some delicatessen in scratch music. Freestyle and avant-garde!

Dance Floor is guided by the spirals of psy-trance. It is a meeting point for all its sub-genres like full-on, dark, progressive, psychedelic, acoustic, techy or tribal to name just a few. An acoustical expansion area for all the expert ears and adventurous minds.

Ambient Forest is a place for freestyle music, where mid and downtempo rhythms get together with no boundaries. Reggae, dub, ambient, ethno-ambient, fusion, a delicious myriad of novelty music for your senses to connect.

Sacred Fire is focusing in World music. Here you can travel across the World through sound. Listen to the rhythms of Africa, the melodies of Asia, the joyful sounds of Latin America, all spiced up by an intense flavour of acoustic music. Ancestral music meets modern music in an organic environment.

that sounds amazing! Wish I was going…well al have to wait til next time. Didnt realize there more music stagesraaa

I went to Anti-Boom free festival last time on the other side of the lake. I do believe Boom is pretty much a psytrance fesie. Anti boom was nuts in all sorts of ways. Yes, its hot as hell so the lake is a lifesaver. Interesting to float on a truck inner tube past massive rigs banging out Acid techno, gabba etc and seeing local Portuguese families come down and not be too phased by it all. The acid techno crews rig must be pretty well known as it was so big it could probably be seen and heard from space. Nicknamed the behemoth, the juggernaut never stopped except for genys to be refilled. Boom looked very pretty from the other side, fairly easy to swim over too. I think they may only allow people in to boom the day before it starts so Anti boom is a good place to hold up before or after.

Also, I don’t think getting hold of drugs will be too much hassle. I think I will be milling around that neck of the woods so may well call in especially if there is more variation in tunage, a week of psytrance would drive me to despair.

    cheers for the replys guys!!http://partyvibe.com/vbulletin/images/smilies/new/bigsmile.gif

so whats the deal with anti boom? can you get there easily from the festival? its probably worth checking it out if its possible

i wish i could go to Boom this year. but i would have to save some money, which doesn’t seem likely these days.

    don’t you mean Anti-pop?
well it’s a bit far, but the access is not bad, probably 4 hours by car. not sure though, I’m failling to visualize the map in my head.
I might go there, because it’s like 2 hours away from pdc festival, which will be happening at the same time. only need to find someone sober enough willing to do the driving

just got my tickets, just need to buy my plane and bus ones now

    eek
